Hi this is my first time in this forum. Me and my family are going to Dumaguete on August 16 to 19. We plan to go to Siquijor first for a two nights stay then will go back to Dumaguete on the 18th till 19. I would like to know if there is also a Dolphin watching in Siquijor? We will be staying in Coco Grove in Siquijor and Sta. Monica Beach Resort in Dumaguete. Please help me plan my itinerary. Thanks in advance .....

    Jenniedc, welcome to this forum.
As far as I know there is no organized dolphin watching around Siquijor.
You have to go to Bais, about 50 km north of Dumaguete.
The time (August) is still right now to watch them there.
You have chosen 2 good resorts for your stays on Siquijor and Dumaguete.

Thanks jellyfish. My itinerary are as follows: We will be arriving Dumaguete at around 3:55PM from Mla...we will proceed to Siquijor...we will spend 2 nights there. Then on the 18th we will go back to Dumaguete and stay at Sta. Monica. Where can we squeeze the Dolphin watching with our schedule? Please help me as this is my first time to go there. It is my long time wish to see Siquijor.

Thanks again. Is it possible to take an early trip going to BAIS from Sta. Monica (preferably what time?)? See the sandbar as well then go back to Sta. Monica by 12nn because ur flight is at 4:25p.m. Is this possible? How long is the travel time from Sta. Monica to Bais? Thanks :-)

Hi! Iv been to siquijor before and me and my friends had a blast! We wished we could stay a little longer but we cant due to work. We were able to the spelunking, take a swim at cambugahay falls, visit old church and convent. here are some of our photos:

And another thing... the best way to enjoy siquijor is to rent a motorbike and you will be able to get around siquijor in just one day or not the whole day...

Jennie, you can't see the sandbar AND being back at Sta Monica at noon time !
You need to be early in the morning at the boating place in Bais. Preferably at 6:30 AM !!
That means that you have to leave Sta. Monica at around 5:30 AM.
When the trafic is no problem (not to be expected at that time) then it takes you about 60 till 75 minutes from Banilad (Sta Monica).
But make sure that reservations for the boat have been made.
Sta. Monia will surely do that for you. Otherwise you are there but more people than you were planning the same trip that same morning
If you want to enjoy the trip, don't be in a hurry and indeed enjoy the sandbar and do some swimming there.
Take food and drinks with you. It can become a terrific enjoyable day.
I advise you to check out at Sta. Monica in the morning, take your stuff to Bais and leave it in the car/van.
Then you will have a relaxed time and let yourself drop at the way back at the airport of Dumaguete around 3 PM.
Enough time; no need to be there the requested 2 hrs in advance.
    Have fun !
