i used to love cooking, trying out new dishes and styles was great(a lot of failures as well), but since being in the philippines, it is just too hard to find the ingredients.

sarcasm is the lowest form of humor, but what the heck it's an open forum right? Hows that German place doing? miss that hax'n kraut thingy, German Lechon. yum...

 

you might be correct, but my low form of humor, attitude and quality of work is very obvious more welcome than what others do and produce here in Duma, as I am still here... (maybe sarcasm again, maybe reality, but what do I know I am only German)

But as you know everything I am happy that you enlighten me? What German place do you mean ? Atlantis?

Anyway the problem with each many kinds of business is, if you don't have a concept and low quality you will most likely not be very successful.

Nikki's might have been a good place some 5 years ago. In Dumaguete of 2008 are in 5 minutes from that location better and more valuable restaurants for each kind of food Nikki's was serving. No matter if Philippino, Italian, Mexican, Austrian, Seafood, Indian.....

Another problem are the clients you have and want. It does not pay the salary when you have 15 guests on 3 tables sharing 4 main-dishes, 2 coke, 1 Royal plus 10 tap-water and each 15 minutes a bucket of ice..... but occupying the space for 3 hours.

There are great locations in Dumaguete and chances for nice quality Restaurants. Let's have a look at the rooftop where National Bookstore is. A wonderful location for a good restaurant and what is there another low level one which serves exactly the same low level stuff than 25 others in Dumaguete and wondering why they have not the business they were thinking of. No concept, medium-low quality and a little bit of everything won't work out in the (let's call it) "New" Dumaguete.

Some good points Rhoody, if you said that the first time, it would have been a great post.

So why don't you take your spare pesos and open up such a place, new concept, for the new Dumaguete. Hard rock, beer, girls, and a good vibe. I think the saying is "put your money where your mouth is". Some of us have, for better or worse. Your indirect reference to personal situations, is well not surprising, maybe those no longer here contributing have valid reasons, or maybe they just now have lives.

My point was not about nikki's or, Casablanca, or any resto in specific terms, but perceptions. sometimes your decidedly critical comments as moderator of a forum about all things positive in Dumaguete ring hollow, as only sponsors, friends of this site, or prospective sponsors tend to get the good reviews, Diba? Now that said, it doesn't mean we all have to agree on what's good to eat, but as a forum moderator maybe let the people decide for themselves, before interjecting your illuminating comments.

But your right, it is your forum, carry on...

Jelly, it's OK, he is one that guys who knows everything even without going anywhere cause of family pressure and wonders why he has not success like others. You can see his posts only when he needs some links to his blog and can't handle that others have fun and enjoy life... That why (since he has his blog up posts this NBA crap on DI but not on his blog...

RHB... You told the same Karabow Poo to your guests, Rip off friends and wonders that somebody is not happy with that "I don't go out if it's not for free, but know everything" attitude.

RHB, think about, Jelly, me and many guys (business owners like Hayahay, Apo Vista, Adventure Dive-Shop, Flo Ho, Filipiniana, Rusi, Dumaguete Springs, Casablanca, Kiwi Dive Resort and many more) are here in Duma and on the board without a having a gun pointed at us... and all guys I know are way more successfull than Adings Rip off and never spammed the board like you!!!!... Talking about that place... You were sponsoring us?, we got any discount? No! your (family) stuff ripped me off and I still tolerated your "Gigi" like spam and even send people there and supported you ... that is an easy to proof fact, like your negative comments since your family tied you up to your Karaoke-machine.

Did you ever eat at Italia, Nikki's, Casablanca and spend a centavo at other places ... What in the wide wide world of sports give you the right to judge ANY of them?
You go with your Clan on a weekday to Why Not cause there is free entrance... great job, man !!!

You offend DI on the board but excuse the same time with a private mail to me ??? how poor is that...

You are also right in your post... I like the new Dumaguete and Quality, maybe that is one of the factors why DI is successful... Quality. looking at my dive-bookings I am also not unhappy with that, bookings from totally on DI ignored places. Sad enough, it gives me not enough time to open a Bar like you mentioned above as I am sure beer girls rock 'n roll would be successful in town.

to comment one more... In your case I would be happy if you would get a life again and stop posting. Not because we dont want you here, just because in your age there should be more than being tied up to a Karaoke or flying realtime simulators from Sydney to New York or spreading rumors into the world...
