I went to this shop and saw its display of wide range of electric vehicles, from combined bike/electric scooter to large chariots. The combined bike/electric scooter costs only P20,000 and it charges while you pedal the bike. When you are tired you can switch on its electric motor. Most of the motors of the electric vehicles charge for only 4-6 hours and they can run for about 1,500 kilometers.

I guess this will hit the city by storm in a few months (especially those who will be buying new vehicles), provided the dealer has enough supplies.

E-bikes are becoming popular here in Australia, thinking of getting one myself and fitting it with baskets to do the shopping. I live in a 'retirement' area (although not yet that age myself )- it's a fairly large island with a bridge over to the mainland but has a big network of bike paths and any hour of the day you can see the following array of vehicles:

Little motor scooters with 30cc engines
    Bicycles
    Tricycles
Bicycles assisted by little two stroke motors 'grafted on'
    Ditto trikes
    Bicycles assisted by electric motors
    Ditto trikes
'Mobility' 4 wheeled scooters like George Constanza had in Seinfeld when he was masquerading as an invalid
Electric 2 wheeled scooters with a flat 'plate' to stand on

I was joking the other day that if a Dumaguete motor trike were to appear on the island nobody would bat an eyelid !!!!

1500 km, say Philadelphia to Miami.
On one charge ? I dooooon't think so!!

Not bad for around town though, probably get about 20 to 30 km out of a charge. Next time I see someone on a bike or trike I'll ask them.

Miles? Now there's a name to toy with, I remember those when I was a kid along with gallons, pints, pounds shillings and pence, pounds and ounces, black and white televisions etc. Ahh the good old days.
