And that makes perfect sense, fisherman and hunters etc do not want any restrictions untill there is nothing left. It is never a good idea to have self regulation, ppl are too short sided, ego centric and greedy to aproach it in a wise manner.

BoyBawang makes some sense and I assume the helmet laws are for motercycles rather than scooters.

How does this influence tricycles btw?

Well maybe that is just the point, Daffs. THERE IS NO HELMET LAW!

Nor is there a law that one must wear long pants, shirts with sleeves, etc.

This is just a classic case of dictatorship.

Next they may be coming into your home telling you what you can eat, what TV programs you must watch, and of course what religion you must practice.

"If you don't like then you go somewhere."

    IF THEY WILL LET YOU!

I think it’s not only dumaguete LTO want to implement that helmet law, it’s also in cebu now...I also read the same complains from cebu people. So maybe it will be all over Philippines?

So the motto: when you don’t like ....then go somewhere…. outside dumaguete ???? ( maybe where???)

Now , no place to escape people..:D

It's been said that most of the people in Dgte hospital rehab are in for strokes and motorcycle accidents. I knew a guy who was ran into by another mc rider in Cebu, now he lapses in and out of normalcy.

Saw another guy get off the boat from Siquijor with a bloody towel over his head and face one morning..

It's all fun chat until it's you on the ground. The 2-3x I had a m/c accident, I sure didn't see it coming.. One time I was sliding along the ground face first in my full face helmet in a nanosecond.

    bike accidents?

It is known that anyone that rides a two wheeler it is inevitable he or she will take a spill....

It's not a matter of if, it's a matter when:(

My recommendation is: WEAR YOUR HELMET

You don't get it. It's infact advisable to wear helmet in Cebu.. or Manila.. or any part of the world where never-ending-highways are everywhere! But humble roads in dumaguete is nowhere near that for heavens sake!

The situation here makes it imposible to drive > 40kps from Silliman to SuperLee. I hope that's clear :D
