⌛ Helmet laws now being enforced

hahahahaha! thanx 4 the correction guys! I got used to internet bandwidths that I got it mixed up LOL! LOL!

 

The mechanism of motorcycle injury involves many factors. To mention a few... your own speed of course, the speed of all moving things around you, how hard or soft your landing is. Accidents happen even to the most safe concious bike driver.

In my many years of taking care of trauma patients, ALL of them were so thankful they wore helmets.

If this LAW can save even one person from getting brain, facial injuries, then it is worth it.

 

to wear a helmet or not to wear a helmet? ouch!

I had a motorcycle accident in 2006, I broke my arm, they put a metal bar something on my right arm, then took it out again in another operation after a few months... and I was wearing a helmet that time :D ...

wearing a helmet will save your head.. that's what are helmets for but not so in other parts of the body..

wearing a helmet is a law here in our City, and yes many people dislike it, they were crappy thin helmet, or the helmet of a skateboarder for the cool look, still accidents do happen...

I think wearing a helmet is good but sure nothing beats to feel the wind through your head feeling free... while strolling on your scooter through the boulevard..

the lto did not have the authority to set up check points and issue citations. See this weeks edition of the negros chronical for the latest info. For my part I didn't wear a helmet in Texas and won't do it here. I'll just slip a 50 peso note on my d/l when I hand it to the officer:D

 

Let us know how well your P50 note is received by the 30+ officers who stop you..., if you are free enough to do so.

Non DOT approved helmets may actually harm you more than help. Some helmets can actually stab your skull when they are broken. The helmets they sell here are crap and basically the good ones are not feasible for the third world since a decent agv helmet for example will run around 10,000 pesos converted from dollars. How much more for a top of the line arai... 30k... This helmet law is an ignorant move!

Another reason why full face helmets are not good for dumaguete are because the riders and drivers are not educated enough in their driving for it. Nobody stays in the right place and people don't know much about the right of way, etc... this makes motorcycle riders very dependent on as much hearing and vision they can to know where all the other threats on the road are... not possible with a full face helmet. In the US, it is fine because people stay in their lanes and drive in formation when following each other making blind spots very few and driving much safer at the given speeds. I would say for fast driving long stretch roads... Yes helmets are good because you are not driving at almost crawling speeds like the normal city driving in dgte. But then again, a cheap helmet aint gonna save your life either so ermmm... Cancel this law please. Make it optional for those who want to be safe since they are the only ones that can afford safe expensive helmets anyway

 

Better be aware of the new big headed policeman.

 

shadow,shadow,shadow, i read about five different resentments you entwined into the helmet law. when a person is upset with one factor they will continue on to develop more into the issue. have you ever seen brains oozing out of someones ears? i have, and his helmet was straped to the back of his hog. had a nephew crack his noggin on the road doing about 60mph but guess what, he lived and proudly shows everyone his split open helmet.so my friend just let your venom spitting be for the helmet law as there aint 'nuttin' we can do about it.
