Hi! I'm so glad I found this forum as I have been going around in circles planning our Holy Week trip to Dumaguete next year. My concerns are that I will be travelling with 3 kids (ages 6, 8 & 12) and my mom (age 68 but still strong) and I am not sure of the adventures offered by Dumaguete are safe for them. Any ride in a habal-habal is out of the plan so that cancels out the waterfalls at Valencia. Also, since it will be Holy Week, I am not sure about availability of transportation for touring. Please comment on my tentative itinerary as ff:

Day 1 (Holy Thursday) - Arrive Dumaguete Airport around 9 am. Check-in and leave lugguage at Bethel. Go to Siquijor. (Is a half-day tour of Siquijor possible on Holy Thursday)
Day 2 (Good Friday) - Check-out Bethel after lunch and go to La Planta at Bais. Go around Bais (any stores open where we can buy snacks and meals for the kids?)

Day 3 (Black Saturday) - Early Morning Dolphin Watching and trip to Manjuyod sand bar
    - Where can we buy food for lunch while out on our trip?
    - Is it safe to stay overnight at Manjuyod Sand Bar? I'd like to stay there on our second night but since it's Black Saturday, the tourism office would probably be closed. Will it be possible to schedule an overnight stay there on Holy Week? If so, we can probably spend Saturday night at the sand bar.

Hoping to hear from you soon!

I think it is possible to go up to the waterfalls with somebody who has a 4x4 the hubble hubble is expensive anyhow, some organize tour. We traveled with 2 kids 3 and 12 and that went relatively well but would have done more in organized tours than finding own transport. Mike adventures diveshop would be a good option but not sure he is open than, they where closed at sundays if I recall.

Sorry can't help you much, hope you have a nice trip

    No problems

Government offices will be closed, but most of the businesses well still be open. No problem finding food I am sure. Maybe PM Rhoody he is involved with a lot of water activities as I understand it. Safety you have no worries America is more dangerous than there.

    Thanks!

Thanks! I also need to find out the telephone number of La Planta Hotel in Bais. I found several phone numbers but I cannot connect using any of them. They are 035 4038321, 5415755/56. The 541 numbers are not in service while the 403 number "cannot be completed as dialed".
