Egon (Dumaguetesprings), I wish you all the luck with your new establishment in Dumaguete.
As I said before already, it's a great pleace to have a drink, food or a simple chat.
For me it makes Dumaguete a still better place to stay as a resident or as a visitor.
The last few restaurants/bars which have been started all have good potential.
Hope they can survive long for the well being of all of us.
Critics can only help to further improve if taken serious , as you obviously do.

 

I decided to stop in and see Edelwiess.no probs that I am not Austrian or European..
Fantastic job on the interior,bar, menue,pricecs and, from my brief encounter,staff.
However for me,location,location,location.Too bad there is no view of ocean,mountains,city..anything.
Also,I saw a glass of California red wine returned to the bar from customer ??wherever/whomever and the barmistress poured it back into the bottle !!
Not only is this a no no hygenically, but in USA,Canada,Europe,it is against the law.....Miguel

 

Reading the above reply, ok I guess pouring the glass of wine back into the bottle maybe a no no hygenically (if the customer has taken a sip), but hey! it's the Philippines and the law of USA, Canada and Europe may not apply!

 

Smoking causes Lung cancer, Heart disease, Emphysema, and may complicate pregnancy, and it can annoy the heck out of non smoking customers.

My choice of the word lavish was meant as a compliment.

I will abide by the suggestion of the dumaguetesprings managment and not return.

Plato said a man should not drink before the age 18, do not get drunk before the age 40, and after 40 drink as much as you please. The Why Not and Casablanca will get my drinking money.

when i die i want it to be a conundrum for the doctor who does my autopsy, was it poor diet? smoking? lack of excercise? drinking? i wanna remain a sample in a university lab, for thousands of new doctors to ponder over lol

A friendly hint from a traveler and business owner. Happy customers return to a business and they will make a new business win or lose. Unhappy customers can become happy ones if you offer to fix their complaints and perhaps invite them again. Maybe they will become friends as well as customers in such a beautiful environment as Dumaguete. Unhappy customers who you tell basically to go to hell will do the same for you the rest of your business life. Dumaguete is a surprisingly tiny place when you (or your business) is in the public eye. One man can do a lot of damage to your reputation. Perhaps next time your hear critcism invite them back and spend 19 pesos on a SM and give it to him for his troubles. Then listen and learn. If he is still not happy at least he will not spread anger for as many years as he is there. If he is happy you might get your money back 1000 times.

Also, Is it a good idea for you to have such a strong an opinion from 16,000 kilometers away? (T-T)

I ask you this; Should I come vist Edelweis my next travels to Phil? Or am I being sent away too? Sorry for being nosey but I guess that is partly what forums are for.
