Help!

Talking about the ideal business for an expat--let me share the antonym, i.e., the non-ideal business for a local: a seemingly nice person is now renting a few upstairs rooms but has decided to open a BBQ in my front garage which is part of the lease. The lease was/is residential but the guy asked if he could open a "carenderia" like a fastfood corner. I got hooked to the idea that he would be helping people because the prices would be reasonable, etc. [sorry]. The music is ok, the laughter which gets loud sometimes is fine but the smoke is not good at all. I only came to know much much later that he'd be using an open grill! Help!

Tell him to put a hood over the grill with a smoke sack on it. it would look cool and you would not have to live with so much smoke.

Gave the guy a sketch of an enclosed grill with a chimney as well. I'll also see him tomorrow and chat about the prob. The best option if nothing's done about the prob is to cancel the lease. Hmmmmm. We'll see.

Noisy Chickens, Dogs etc.

Ok I admit this is nasty but it did work for me.

We had a house in the burbs. A new neighbor moved next door with a pure bread very hyper-nervous spaniel type dog. It was kept in back outside and was quiet until they went out. Then it whined,yelped barked etc continuously until they came home.
I talked to the owner to no avail. I tried to feed the mutt some tranquilizers to no avail. I kicked a hole in the fence but the d*mn dog would not run away.

Then one night I decided to fight fire with fire. They went out to a movie and I set up my tape recorder outside near the fence and recorded 1 1/2 hours of the dogs misery.
I then recorded the second side for a further 1 1/2 hours. The next night we went out for a movie and left the tape playing at full volume outside near our fence. When I came home I played the otherside again at full volume.

A week later they moved.
