This is good news for Dumaguete residents, it is now going to be a lot easier to connect with the other islands by air.

Cebu Pacific is launching 3 flights a week between Dumaguete and Cebu starting January 12

Wow, I just found tickets straight from Cebu to Dumaguete for 1200 pesos. That has to be the best way to get to Cebu now. At that price, I see no reason to take any other way of transportation unless you are sightseeing.

I just received the news by E-Mail from Cebu Pacific too. What a wonderful development.

My wife and I visit Cebu frequently for shopping. We'll likely go by air outbound from DGT and return (heavily laden) by surface transport. I imagine that one could return without baggage using the weight allowance for perishables and arrive in sufficient time to collect the other with the heavy stuff.

    !! WOW !!

Thank you both for this useful information about the flights from Dgte to cebu or vice versa. This would be of great help to us when we come to visit next year.

One word of caution if you will be using this flight to connect tor from an international flight with another carrier at Cebu. Cebu Pacific's baggage allowance is 15 kg and you will likely have a far greater entitlement on your international flight. Be prepared to pay for excess baggage. I don't have the tariff in front of me but 100 pesos/kg would not be out of order. The money isn't prohibitive; it;s just the surprise that is fun to avoid, non?

Thanks for the word of caution, I appreciate it, but I don't think we'll use this flight to connect to our international flight. Again, thank you.

    pretty steep

pretty steep considering the distance and the price to fly to manila, pretty cheap of course compared to European prices.

Might be handy to reach other locations from Duma easier as well

That's round trip. My trip from Manila cost me that much one way. So that price is about half what a Manila ticket would cost.

But remember one thing. With this you will steal traffic from the fastcraft, and once this is under "business" level ,it will be closed. And then you in reality have less transportation choises. Especially if you have luggage.

What and where and how much you are turning, your @ss is still !!!!BEHIND.
