    Hey guys!

I am a newbie here, my fiancee and I are planning to take a side trip to dumaguete sometime during the last week of January 2009, we will be taking the earliest flight out of Manila on a Wednesday and then fly back to Manila on the last flight back on Thursday, my query is this, what activities can we squeeze in? Can we do apo island on day 1? Whole day? Then go back to Dumaguete City and spend the evening there? Can we do a day tour on the 2nd day before we leave?

Please help, your suggestions will be most welcome. Thanks:wink:

Yes, you can see a very small portion of the area in that amount of time. Personally, it doesn't sound like much of a vacation though, you will be on the run the entire time, and not see much of what is here to see.

    thanks for the reply larry

I know that its not much of a vacation, dumaguete is just a side trip but I am curious about the place, could you offer any suggestion on how to maximize our stay there? Will greatly appreciate your help, thanks again

Hi, You can see Apo in one day but you should have your arrangements in order ahead of time. My family arranged a day trip snorkeling there with the travel agent in Hotel Bethel, downtown Dumaguete. We left early and got back about 5:00 pm or so. It was a nice experience. Since your time is so limited, I suggest not complicating things too much. Stay in downtown Dumaguete for the night. Hotel Bethel, Honeycombe, and Hotel Palwa are all suitable. Pedicabs will run you to and from the airport and other destinations. The Why Not Disco is hopping on Wednesday night and is walking distance from all three of the hotels mentioned. As far as a day trip for your thursday you will be limited with your pending flight. I would put my feet up and watch the world pass by at a restaurant on the boulevard and wait for my flight. But if you need to cram in one more experience you can go to the mountains. There are a couple resorts with gardens and scenery. But again, you will be rushed. Good luck.
