    Not sure

But Cebu is a major port. Dumaguete is not able to handle container ships as far as I know. but you could ask them if they can go to Bacolod City it is the same Island as Dumaguete so you could move your things by truck. if it comes into Cebu then it has to go back on a ferry to dumaguete which I not sure but I don't think there is a ferry from Cebu City to Dumaguete. I think the ferry to Dumaguete is a hour south of Cebu City and even at that I don't think it can handle containers but I really not sure. But someone here does know. I had a friend ship his stuff to Cebu but the ship stopped in manila first and his shipment got stuck in Manila for a month.

Matiao is ver reasonable on shipping from Cebu/Duma. That being said, I would ship nothing that would not fit in a balikbayan box!

There are numerous balikbayan shippers (AKA door to door shippers) throughout the US. The boxes vary somewhat in size, but are generally 20X20X20 or so. Some a little bigger, others a little smaller. Some companies such as Forex (Forexworld.com) offer any size box you want.

Generally, a standard box can be shipped from the west coast to anywhere in the RP for $65-$80. From the east coast $80-$100. Weight doesn't matter, you can pack it as heavy as you like. Shipping time varies from 4-10 weeks, with a normal shipping time of 6-8 weeks depending on origin and shipper.

Also, I have shipped over 50 boxes in the last 7 years, and have never yet had one opened or paid any customs fees.

Some of the bigger shipping companies are Forex, Atlas, and Manila
Forwarders. You can usually find who ships in your area by calling or visiting a Filipino or Asian store.

As I said, if it doesn't fit in a balikbayan box, I wouldn't ship it!

I just received a balakbayan box I sent here when I was in California. Unfortunately it had been tampered with and many items were missing. I made the mistake of not making an inventory list, so I'm not sure exactly what I lost. The shipper was Manila Forwarders.

I have used all three of the companies I mentioned, plus a few others not worth mentioning.

If Fame Cargo is still in business dont use them, our boxes are still tied up in Customs in Manila because they have not paid the duties and it is going on 7 months. If you are shipping from the east coast it has been costing $120 per box the the Visayas for the largest boxes, usually 24x24x18. The further from Manila you ship the price tends to rise.

You may want to see if StarKargo has any shippers near you, they are new to the Balikbayan shipping game but they have a huge corporation behind them, ABS-CBN of the Philippino channel line of businesses. 1-866-STAR-555.
