    Hey Teacher,

    Thanks for the nice compliment!

We, the band I play with now, are all old guys that had played professionally in our younger days.

Three of the band members currently work for I.B.M.. One of the guys, (sax/keyboard player), works for "Roland", a state of the art high quality musical equip. manufacturer here in the U.S.

We, our band, gets to do what we love doing, (playing clubs/private events, and festivals), and the extra income is a nice bonus.

    Hey Dude,

You sure wanna live big! Wow, the Play Boy Mansion! Well, if you are single, guess that would be considered "living in Paradise"!!!

To be more serious, how is going for you there in Duma? Hope all is well and you are liking your new home. Keep us posted.

Hi pce704 Great music. Did you know Bruce Conte played at the Cebu guitar festival last year. Check this out http://au.youtube.com/watch?v=246RpmSFV8o...i hear he has a girlfriend in cebu so I hope we can see more of him.

Back on topic I live in a city with great beaches but rarely go to the beach these days. If I could live anywhere it would be a flash apartment in Hong Kong next to Happy Valley racecourse with a view across HK skyline to the mainland. And it's only a $50 fare to Cebu. London and Berlin are also great cities but the weather aint good enough and it's too far from asia. Just off to check my lotto ticket.......

    Hello Loftyone,

    Thanks !

Bruce Conty plays "Cross Cut Saw" as good, or better, than Eric Clapton.
Wish I had a nickel for everytime I've played that old Blues song, then my wife wouldn't need to be buying lotto tickets now!
Where I'm living now, we have some great local Blues players, with Jimmie Vaughn (Stevie Ray's brother) at the top of the heap along with a few others. He's not Stevie, but he's very, very good. After all, he was taught by SRV who I think was an absolute master at playing Blues Guitar.
As for me, I'm a Bass player and have been blessed with the opportunity to do some local shows/festivals with the cream of the crop Blues players in Austin, Texas.

    Australia:
I had spent several months there in the past. (Melbourne-Sydney-Brisbane and up to Noosa. A beautiful Country with beautiful beaches, and as I remember well, some very pretty ladies too! Manley Beach was a paradise all it's own.

Are you there now, or in the Phils.?

    Hi pce

I'm a big fan of Stevie Ray Vaughan's music and Eric Clapton. In fact, I love any blues or rock inspired by blues. We have our own blues guitar hero from Perth, Dave Hole, who was a regular at our local blues club until he got "discovered" after 30 years. Check out his overhand slide style YouTube - Dave Hole -03- Take Me To Chicago (Bluescafe Apeldoorn NL)

I'm in the nasty little dictatorship of Singapore with my family and will be flying to Cebu tomorrow night. Lots of good musos in Cebu and some guitar factories. What's your conection to the Phils ?

Apologies to the mods for going off topic (again).

    cheers

    The Lofty One:

    Kevin,

My ties to the Phils.? My wife is Cebuana. She was born in Liloan and has lots of family in Maslog & Danao City. (all just a short distance from Cebu City itself). We are hoping to relocate to Dumaguete this year.

Will check out your Blues guy.

    Have a safe journey.

    Jim

Love it here. My stress level has gone down considerably. This place is really relaxed.

Dumaguete isn't the Playboy Mansion, but it's not a bad alternative. There are plenty of cute girls here. :p

    The Dude :

    Hey Dude,

Thanks for letting folks know you're doing ok and are liking it there in Duma.

It is a paradise in it's own right, so to speak. It's the same for me, my stress level always goes way down when me and my wife go to the Phils. She's a real filipina beauty!!! And a smart one too. She knows the local ways and keeps me both safe and happy there. And of course, in Texas too. I got real lucky.

Hope all continues to go well for you.

    Jim
