I've just returned from Dumaguete after spending a great three weeks roaming around the surrounding countyside and taking a dip in the ocean a few times.
Got to meet briefly with Mike, a cool guy who seemed having fit-in well into the pinoy's way of life, good on you Mike!
I travelled to the American-Japanese shrine, passed the Forrest Camp. A bit disappointing I must say as there is little to see, great views of the surrounding area though.....
Could not miss paying a visit to the Cata-al War Museum in Valencia, with its private large collection of findings.
I've only now discovered that there is a Japanese pillbox situated just north of Silliman University on Airport Road, in Barangay Piapi, on the right hand side of the road. Unfortunately, it is not a preserved historical site, but is located on what appears to be private property with a small house built almost on top of it. You can still see the gun port on the East side. The entrance is intact as well as what looks like a rear exit.
Could anyone whose passing by take a few pics for me?
    Best regards to all........

the japanese built a small tunnel network as well as an escape network from the airport which they developed. i wondered if this pillbox was one of the exit points
