isn't it funny that almost 2 years ago I said that there will be nothing open before 2010... If I look at those pictures they will have problems with opening mid 2010. For that I don't need to talk to anybody, I use the given picture and a bit common sense.

BTW, the original contract of the construction company did ended Feb 15 (and got extended) , what means nothing else that there is another delay of , I don't know how many, month...

And it would give them time to sail through the Depression and hope for a start of a global economic upturn when they open. But as I see it, the mall is big enough, and seeing the design, I guess it would be nice. I guess it will be worth the wait.

there won't be no ending of global - depression also for a loooong time, where should the money come from ???
The PI could be a country which benefits big time from the global depression as it is still cheaper for a holiday as many other countries.... hmmmm having said that, nah... don't think the PI would ever take that chance, too many pockets in the top-floors to fill...

    Ronbinsons Construction Is On Track

Nice building of Robinsons Dumaguete. Its an all precast concrete and one of a kind in all Robinsons Mall in the Visayas.

Nice in Dumaguete and would be an attraction, too.

As I saw the picture, the columns and beams were all installed and the structural framing is almost done. The next phase is the installation of slabs and walls and came in the architectural designs. Its faster compared to conventional concrete construction, wherein the columns and beams were casted at site with lost of falseworks and scaffoldings.

without being rude and of course you are welcome here on DI.
There is almost nothing going on since 3 month. The construction company for the concrete stuff is actually 6 month behind schedule. What simply means that they are about that time behind they were working on it...

There are almost no shops rented out as the square meter prices are ridiculous for a province town.. most are Robinson owned companies plus a few "must-haves" like fast food chains.

I am absolutely "pro" new shopping options in Duma, but I am not blindfolded and celebrate a "soon to open" fantastic Mall just because a truck lost 5 hollow blocks and a shovel 50 meter north of Saint Louis school.
