What would you say is the cheapest and fastest option to get from Singapore to Duma?

    1. Flying into Cebu and connecting to Duma? Are the domestic flights from Cebu starting meanwhile? Or do I have to take the bus/jeepney or any other mode of transport?

    2. Or flying into Manila and connecting flight to Duma?

    3. Are there connecting flights from Clark Airbase to Duma with other airlines? Then the cheapest way would probably be Cebu Pacific from Singapore, as they service Clark. According to their website they would connect to Duma via Cebu for app. 2.500 Peso, but somebody said in another thread, that their flights from Cebu aren't going yet, but you can book them already.

So what to do? Arrival time would be end of May.

Depending on what time the plane arrives in Cebu Ferry is probably your best option Its 3.5 hours by fast ferry or 8 by overnight ferry. The flight will start (supposedly) Mar 4 this wed.(heard that in Dec also) But they will kill you on excess baggage I heard its 100p a kilo charged in 5 kl increments. Night ferry runs a promo each way on Cokaliong onlly 300p

I don't know if this link from Amadeus will display or not but here goes:

    http://www.amadeus.net/plnext/meb/C...lbPQWnZzpz5bbnPQGbp58Mvl!1530220286!598995392

You can screw around with search engines until the end of time but Amadeus is the software which the airlines use, so why not you? I picked a date at random. You can choose an actual one to suit your schedule.

Similarly, why screw around with ferries and busses when the object is to get to Dumaguete and you will be flying to start with?

The first two hits are probably your best bets for schedule:

    * Singapore (SIN) - Dumaguete (DGT) Mon 23 Mar

    * Singapore (SIN) - Manila (MNL) Philippine Airlines Philippine Airlines PR506 ETD: 00:25 ETA:04:05
    * Manila (MNL) - Dumaguete (DGT) Philippine Airlines PR291 ETD: 07:00 ETA: 08:20

    OR

    * Singapore (SIN) - Dumaguete (DGT) Mon 23 Mar

    * Singapore (SIN) - Manila (MNL) Philippine Airlines PR502 ETD: 0940 ETA :13:25
    * Manila (MNL) - Dumaguete (DGT) Philippine Airlines PR293 ETD:14:45 ETA:16:05

Fares depend on who you choose to make your bookings.

There, I hope that's a start for you. Have fun!

From Singapore you can fly direct to Cebu on Silk Air and depending on dates they have some really good specials. I think Cebu Pacific also has a direct flight to cebu although most flights stop over in Manila. The "land trip" from Cebu to Dumaguete, which includes a barge from Bato-Tampi, is very cheap. You don't even have to get off the bus.

Lots of budget airlines fly Singapore-Manila. Tiger Airways has very cheap flights Singapore-Clark but you have to catch the bus to Ninoy Aquino airport in Manila to get the flight direct to Duma and the timing means you have to stay overnight in Manila. Cebu Pacific fly Clark-Cebu.

We always fly direct Singapore-Cebu because we love Cebu and are not keen on Manila.

Get on the internet and check out Cebu Pacific, Silk Air, Jetstar Asia, Air Asia.

Wow, thanks for all the help so far!

bikerdave, you are right, the extra luggage with P100 per kg is a bummer! We will have something like 40-50 kg, so it will be around P1000-2000 for overluggage alone. Hm!

davfitz, unfortunately can't open the Amadeus link, bad request is what I get. But yeah, will probably have to 'screw' around with some travel portals or travel agencies to get the best pricing then. ;-)

loftyone, for me Silk Air is not competitive anymore with all the budget carriers around. But will look into it. I searched around on the Cebu Pacific website and they have quite some good deals via Manila or Clark (SGD 99 or 59 respectively). I will hope as well, that the Cebu-Duma flight is started by May, that would save some precious travel time also then.

As we would have all our luggage, we are not keen to have plenty of stopover time in Manila or Cebu, just want to make the trip as short and convenient as possible for the best price. Hah! So much demand! ;-)

Thanks again to all of you for your tips and ideas!

On Silk Air you get 20kg luggage each. Not sure what the new Cebu-Duma flight will allow but on a recent Cebu-Bacolod flight we only got 10kg each. Same when we went to palawan. We paid S$100 each way on Silk Air but it seeems you have found cheaper than that. Jeez S$59 is a very cheap flight !

If you do end up in Cebu, there are a number of options including the overnight ferry if you arrive late. See biker dave's post.

Yeah I will carefully check the luggage allowance beforehand, as that will probably make the bulk of the price, haha!

    Can't wait though...

If you fly through manila with the 4hr layover (if the plane is on time). Carry your toothbrush in your carry-on, as you will probably arrive well before your luggage does here in Dgte Anyhow good luck and hope to see you around

IF you have your personal vehicle which can pick you up in Cebu and do the land trip/barge, THEN Cebu is the way...

IF not, then I agree with davfitz. Take SG-Manila-Dumaguete.

    And yes, have fun indeed....

Thanks again! SG-Manila-Duma is probably the way to go for now, except they'd have started the Cebu-Duma flights by May.
