How much does it cost to send an SMS from Globe or Smart to the USA?

dont know to US, to germany is 15 P. If you have a local filipino active SIM in the US it should be 1 PHP.
With Chikka it is free to send SMS from the Philippines to the US (from a computer)

 

You can also send free text from yahoo, if you have a yahoo account. (Computer to phone) I maintain one local and one international yahoo account. This way when I send a text to a Phil cell and I use my Phil account it is considered a local call and the recipient does not get dinged with a higher rate. Good Luck.

 

Also using chikka you can send from RP phone to US for P2.5, then reply free from a US computer.

If my daughter in law had a computer connection, that would be true. Also she could use the MagicJack I got her. Unfortunately, no connection is available in Upper Cantile-e yet. I hope it is soon.

Not true, Keith. My friend who lives less than 100 meters from your DIL's house, has a very good connection and has had it for two+ years. If you like, I will get you the contact info.

Does that majic jack really works? I saw it advertised on TV for $20.00 a year, I think? and you get a permanent number?

 

Works great for me. I picked a Seattle number so it is a local call for my sister who lives there. All calls to the US and canada are free.
