Hello Everyone. My name is Scott. I have been reading alot on this forum over the last few months. It has alot of very useful information on it. I will be visiting Dumaguete very soon and staying with my girlfriend there for about a month.

I'm not new to the Philippines but this is the farthest south I have ever been. I lived up in Subic for 5 years until the bases closed. Of course, that was 17 years ago. This will be the first time I have visited since.

I'm sure something has changed in that amount of time. But, I hope not alot. :D Hope to see some of you there.

    Hi Scott,

welcome to DI. Great that you found the way here.
I am pretty sure that Subic 20 years ago is still 15 ahead of Dumaguete now.

    cheers

You will not recognize Subic now. I was just there in January and there's a lot of resorts, some exclusive for members only (property owners) others are open to the public. There is a recently opened 4 lane highway from Clark to Subic in about 20-30 min (local drivers) or 60 min if you drive the speed limit. You've got to see it.

Duma is nothing like Subic but have equally breathtaking sites. Diving is better in Duma and neighboring Island than Subic.

that's not the hardest task to fullfill... hehe

If you look at the bottom of the forum-starting page you can find some things which happen the actual day.

On the top above the forum-box is a "calender" link where we start slowly filling up things.

    cheers
