I gotta disagree with this statement, I have a lot of stuff I want here and I have to get my friends from various places around the globe to hand carry it in for me because it is not available in the Philippines.

That said, I agree candy might not be the best idea - but it is easy and the kids love it.

Fruit might be another idea to try out, go to the market - they got a lot of good and cheap fruit.

.....what you said, remind me of a young man in our stop over in Japan. Carrying a large can of coffee in his both arms. That might be one of "a not" have in the philippines ?

..anyway , and hopefully, Rick and Sue already made up their mind what to give to the children in need in Dumaguete. A kind of gifts that of well intention and well thought, not that just the hell with it.

not really, the "not have" in the philippines includes everyday's life articles like a good knifes, a lasting blender or garlic-press, adult-sized-cloth/shoes....

    For the children

    Rick&Sue,

So happy to know you love to help children. They are so precious.

If you so happen to visit some smaller schools also--try to visit the Balanced Achievement School of Excellence or BASE in Tandayag, Amlan. Already the BASE has enjoyed some heartily given support from such wonderful personas such as Rhoody and Gunther.

There's one in Apo Island also I think on singular support/subsidy.

Notebooks, pens, book sets if you could give book scholarships, tuition scholarships are really good for the indigents and so on. Please feel free to contact me by PM and I can have the teachers and some students give you the warmest welcome ever. I also have the cell phone number of Ms. Jenny of the Apo Island school.

Thanks for your cheers for the children!
