I am almost hesitant to post this offering considering the difficulty that others and myself have had in attempting to book seats online with CP. The fares are indeed attractive and only available to those who book via the internet. I am attempting to do so presently, so far without success. The period of validity for these fares is from 1 June - 31 December 2009 inclusive. Seats must be purchased by 31 March. Details and a link to Cebu Pacific's website follow:

Cebu Pacific Air - It's time everyone flies

Should you decide to attempt to book a fare and if you are initially "successful", here is a tip. You will receive a booking or reservation number. Keep it because it is the key! You will receive a further message that your booking is "under review", which suggests some sort of confirmation with your credit card company is in progress and asking you to check again in an hour and to call CP's reservation center after this point.

The "under review" statement is a deceptive untruth. If you bother to check with your credit card's URL, you will probably find that the charge has, indeed, been posted to your account. When you call CP's reservation center, and eventually you will, the untruth will be repeated to you. Be firm, call them on the lie and demand to know when the E-ticket will be issued. They will answer that it will follow within 24 hours. This should happen. If it does not, then you do have trouble. It seems to me, that one actually needs to make that telephone call in order for the reservation to be processed. There is no actual "online booking". Those who have booked through a travel agency will recall that the agent made your booking by calling CP and not through an ADP service like GEMINI., right?

This is a terribly cumbersome process necessary to book these fares. I have written to CP's management to point this out. It seems not to care.

If you have the patience to follow this procedure, you will be rewarded with an attractive fare and - eventually a good flight service.

I hope that this helps and request other members to post their own experiences or , hopefully, corrections to what I have posted here.

I really hate being the next poster on a thread I started myself - but here goes!

There is both good news and bad news to report on trying to actually book a ticket online with CP.

Good news:. Some bookings actually go through online without having to telephone the call center, getting a busy signal, spend an eternity on hold and finally speak with a humanoid. It's a small but wonderful step. I actually managed to book five trips at the seat sale prices (four from Dumaduete to Cebu).

Bad news Unfortunately and due to too many bad experiences with CP, I have become paranoid. I leave my credit card company's URL open in another window to watch / confirm CP's transactions. My four confirmed trips to Cebu resulted in six charges to my credit card: one from a double booking which resulted from CP's software throwing me out before I realized that the transaction had gone through already and another when no booking was confirmed but the charge posted anyway.

My wife and I will also travel to Laoag in December to give her another chance to drown me in rains or a typhoon. I could NOT reliably book both the Dumaguete - Manila and Manila -Laoag segments into a workable single itinerary, so I booked the segments separately as an internal end-on end ticket. Murphy's Law naturally intervened. I have the Manila-Laoag return segment confirmed and E-ticketed at the seat sale price. The Dumaguete - Manila E-ticket is a beaut! An E-ticket,with a confirmation number against no itinerary and at (fortunately) no charge being posted to my credit card. I'm printing this one as a keeper!

As there was no charge levied against my credit card, I tried the booking again, only to have the credit card which I had been using successfully all afternoon, be rejected three times!

Cebu Pacific has clearly remedied some of its electronic booking and ticketing problems. My compliments for that! It has clearly not yet rectified its problems with linking its sales to credit card purchases. Its software and call center staff seem to suggest that this is a problem between the customer and his credit card company, when it is not!

CPneeds to acknowledge its own internal shortcomings in this area and exert a better effort to resolving these deficiencies. Still the price is right - once you get that far!

Now I must brace myself t go and deal with the humanoid at the call center . . . . . . .

    cebu ticket sale.

I just booked an Econo-light fare today on PAL for P2,192 traveling on the 21st of june and returning on the 18th of July. The Go Fare on Cebu pacific was nearly the same price once I configured in the taxes and the 100-200 peso charge They will hit You for when You choose Your seats.I had no problem using My Visa Debit card on PAL'S website, but I have had problems in the past trying to use it on Cebu Pacific's website. Don't get Me wrong,I like Cebu Pacific and Their hospitality, but for Me it's much more convenient to fly out of PAL'S Centennial terminal than to hastle with the Domestic terminal which I have done so many times in the past.Either way You can't go wrong considering how much the same distance flight could cost You in another Country, especially The U.S.....

Cebu Pacific used to be my favorite airline.

They went south some time last year when they started getting too greedy, they lowered allowed checkin luggage from 20 to to 15 kilos and charge P100 per kilo over the new limit - which is also an increase from P40 per kilo. (not good when lugging around dive equipment)

As a comparison the economy flights on PAL are around same fare as Cebu Pacific and they allow 20 kilos luggage and charge P40 per kilo over 20 kilos.

They also started calling basically ALL flights promo flights = no refunds if you need to cancel your flight.

My parents visited back in January = February, and we had Cebu Pacific tickets Manila-Puerto Princesa - Cebu - Clark

For some reason the scales when weighing in Checkin luggage in Cebu was around 8 kilos more(for our combined luggage) than the scales on the other 2 flights, and when I pointed it out to the person behind the counter she said - sorry Sir nothing I can do about it, if I change it they charge me for the weight.

I demanded to talk to the manager, and some lady came over and told us we had 2 choices, pay or leave the luggage here. Then she suggested we try the scale in the next counter...

The boys moved the luggage over and lo and behold the scales were 5 MORE than the first scale.

So now the manager just proved my point by showing me 2 different scales right next to each other weighing 5 kilos different, but she did not see it that way, she just turned this around and said, see the first one was cheaper so you should be happy.

At that point I had enough of their crap, so of course I paid the thieves the P800 more than they should have had.

Had this happened back in Denmark, I would never have stopped at this point, I would have called the police on them and I am very sure they would have had all the scales shut down for calibration by government.

Sure my overcharge was only P800... But times how many passengers? Quite a handy little payout for fixing your scales...

So my advice - USE PAL's Economy flights in stead...

PAL only charge P40 per kilo overweight
Free 20 kilo luggage checked in
    Free snacks & drinks
    Video entertainment on board
    No karaoke on the flight
They are not trying to push 'airline souvenirs' during the flight
they fly out of the Centennial Terminal in Manila.

Similiar problems with CP. They were weighing in luggage using a tray to hold your luggage. I had 5 guys from California here for a convention and some of us had our luggage just a bit over the acceptable amount. When I asked if the tray was going to be sent on the airplane the lady said "no" and so, I asked that the tray be weighed by itself. We did this and it was around 2.5 lbs. Ironically, for 2 of us, this was all we needed to be under the acceptable weight. How much extra money did they make by using these trays?
Try just going to their main office and buying the tickets. In AC its at Marlon Mansions off of McArthur Road.

The fares I mentioned here are only available as internet bookings.

I should have posted again to compliment CP on its improvements in its problems with the credit card billing. My bookings finally all went through without further intervention on my part. Chapeau!

Weight, baggage limits and how the airlines deal with these is an entirely different issue IMHO.

IMHO it is not a different issue as all this things fit into the overall picture of CP. It is all about a single flight and the way this airline deals with customer.

The job of an airline is bringing their customer from A to B, that people can do at B whatever they have to do.

Some people take that service for vacation, some for business and some people obviously don't have much to do and prefer spending hours/days/weeks with solving payment problem for a standard procedure done million of times in the world daily without any problems
