⌛ Rick is now about seven hours from Hong Kong!

His flight left this morning from New York. He will have a two-hour layover in Hong Kong before his connecting flight to Manila. He's going to stay over in Manila before heading to Dumaguete on Saturday!

He's was so excited, but I'm sure he's restless by now after nearly eight hours on a plane. He was better prepared this time -- armed with his laptop for DVDs/CDs, noise-reducing headphones, etc. (after spending the entire flight two years ago next to an infant that cried the entire way from NY to MNL).

I hope I can stay awake to talk with him after he lands in Hong Kong (it will be about 1:10am ET for me), LOL!

Hong Kong is in China. Rick should be prepared for disappointment and at least some restriction on the use of a laptop there.

The Olympics are over and the Chinese no longer even have to pretend to be nice guys. They aren't!

He made it safe and sound

Rick could not get a signal from his phone in HK, but he finally got through from a payphone. His flight landed about an hour early, so he had a longer layover, and then his connecting flight from HK to Manila was a bit delayed.

He just called from his hotel in Manila to let me know he's there... and going to SLEEP.

[Oh, and thanks, Rhoody -- somehow I just knew I could depend upon you to steer him down the "wrong" path, lol ]

 

it's been nearly 7hrs since an update!!! i'm getting worried lol

 

Can he still be sleeping? Alone? We all have so much invested in him that there will be so many of us in Dumaguete now concerned for his welfare.

Clearly there are too many of us lapsed protestants with too little to occupy us on this Good Friday!
