    HI Francis,

Why I react is quickly explained, I just have plenty of background information which are not visible for normal members. You can believe me (or not) that I have my reason to react like that.

I am sure you will have a great time here in Duma, and should we meet, the first round is on me...

    cheers

    Rhoody

    Adrian,
I am confident that you will find the book entertaining. It reveals a lot about our culture.

Have fun on your stay. Remember, 90 percent of the reasons you get in trouble here or maybe in any place is because of the "Unsafe" things or situations that you put yourself into.

As always personal safety is verry much how you behave and your body language. Dumaguete is a verry nice place. And other smaller cities is also quite safe. I married about 9 yrs ago and spent a night out on my own in central cebu city throwing myself a "stag party".. got drunk and went out in to the city center.. talking to a lot of different people visiting bars and just went around for fun. I never encountered any problem what so ever (well girls jumping you at the bers was not so nice when you are going to marry in a few days).

Well I was 40y not a small person. that might perhaps have helped a little.
but I think my attitude wast my biggest advantage. I am not the kind of person that easely pick a fight.. usually in a good mode dont show my money or brag about anything. no clock or cellphone with me.. Just some pesos for the night and a USD 20 in my underware lining (so you can get a cab home if you get robbed). I been to the philippines 3 times and each time stayed atleast 6 weeks.. People are usually verry nice and helpful even giving advice where you NOT should be going.

Compared to cebu city dumaguete is heaven (I don't like big cities).
Use your common sence and do not act like a victim.

If you look like a victim and your bodylanguage shows that you are uncomfortable with your surroundings and perhaps even afraid then it will show you off as a good and easy victim.. That is in any place on earth It can be in a street here in stockholm sweden or in Dumaguete.

Use your common sence and don't act foolish then you most likely will be fine wherever you go.

New Yackers they are not, but staring is still considered rude as well as challenging ones manhood, same as anywhere in the world. If it looks not safe, go where it looks more inviting.
