sorry guys don't have much time to search. I did , but not the answer to my burning question. A friends of mine will be coming over to the country and the wife want to know if she can bring her personal jewelry in her carry on and not to worry that she will be taxed when she arrived ? They are foreigners.

    Thanks !

if the items are not many , wear them on . because there is still risk that the customs will check the luggage

In that case the regulations state a reasonable amount of clothing, jewelry, etc can be brought in duty free. Guess who's definition of reasonable you must meet. Good luck.

Unless is a member of 50 cent's G-unit I don't think she will have a problem, except that any "special peircings" she has might set off the alarms and the guards might want to do a "special inspection." :D

it is always unwise to travel with jewelery I feel; lot of hassle to find safe places for your valuables, carrying jewelery always makes you a larger target as well.

I agree...we brought some in and out of India once - and it took about an hour of hassle coming in and going out...
