    I did it

It took about 6 months - You will probably have to ring the Department of Animal Industries and tell them to check their email - A lovely lady called Virgie is the only one who can do this

Animal Industries was the easy bit - collecting the dog at Manila Airport was a farce that took longer than the flight from Australia. It will be inspected by a lovely sympathetic vet who will be appalled by it's treatment by Airline Staff (not let out of cage for 4 - 5 hours etc)

You can take it on the Superferry with the Quarantine clearance (ask them to specify) but better to rest it up for a day and fly Manila to Duma I think.

Australia does not recognise RP vet qualifications so you can't get it back into country without spending 6 months in Malaysia or HK - I'd make sure that you can re-import to USA before I brought it out.

I think the dog was supposed to be quarantined for 30 days after arrival but lets face it - this is the Philippines - nobody gives a flying fck.

    Pet Inport Question

We are bringing our 11 pound/5 kilogram dog with us. It has been suggested by a pet importer that we microchip her. Has anyone else been told this or been required by Philippine authorities? Also would bringing her vitamin supplements and food from the US be any problem? We are bringing her in the cabin. We refuse to put our child in the cargo hold and are receiving mixed info on what documentation she needs. I know it has been addressed in other threads but there again differing info. Has anyone here done this? Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks Neddy, I saw your post earlier and your response was spot on and gave me inspiration to search other sites, and the micro chip was something told to us we did not need by a world re-knowned vet. This has earned you some respect. Thank you. P.s. to all who are viewing. DO NOT pay for your health certificate from the vet. One tried to tell us it was $50.00 and another $50.00 for the second one. And then another no problem for free. A word to the wise.
