The 230 looks excellent. Now with the economic meltdown, there must be hundreds of these and similar sitting in storage somewhere. Maybe a buying opportunity soon.

I am returning to Australia briefly soon, might see what one is worth new in its box, and ship it out in a balikbayan box.

My 2009 XR200 goes well. Its OK for the roads, but something just a little bigger would be better.

    Hi Kuyaoli,

Your comments about the quality of the XR 200 are correct. After only about two months some rust on the frame, around the poor quality welds and the spokes are loosing their shine. I bought a new Honda Wave about 5 months ago, and the quality is much better, not sure why.

It did not take long to take delivery of the 230, who was the agent ? and what are their contact details, please. The rear carrier looks useful.

As for 19 hp, here in the Philippines that is OK. I am happy to sit on 70 or 80 kms an hr where I live. There are some very large potholes from the sugar cane trucks and there is always a child or dog wondering around next to the road.

Am glad to read this thread. Definitely, the Honda CRF 230L will not be available for commercial production here in the Philippines due to the very high price. Almost the cost of two new XR 200? Great some of bucks for additional 3occ.. I also wanted to have a CRF 230L but I guess I'll just settle and get contented with my Honda XR 200 Motard.

@ kuyaoli >> Hope I can see your new bike. Is it in Dumaguete?

    xt 250

my brother was able to buy an xt 250 in cebu...however, it isnt brand new and im not sure as to what year it was manufactured...but it is still in very good running condition for its price...

the previous owner, whom he bought it to, is also a police officer like my brother...and accordingly, it was brought from japan to cebu...

unfortunately, my brother is off in the mountains now for his scout training..but if u want to get info as to where you can purchase the bike, i can ask him once he communicates with me...for now, i can send you some pics of the yamaha xt 250 that he owns....goodluck...
