I know many of the people here in this forum are not really the 'Tech Savvy' type or the like but its always good to know the ever changing trends in technology

You can check cross check your system with the Minumum Requirements by going to Start->Run->type 'dxdiag'
Update: It seems an easier way to see if your PC is ready is to use Microsoft's Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor. The article link can be found here:

Anyways, chances that if you bought your PC 5 years ago it can still run Windows 7 :p

Those of you who are interested, its possible to get the RC (Release Candidate) here:
    Code:

All the genuine keys given are legal and expires at June next year, so if you're looking for the latest operating system for free this is your best best :D

Of course, its a given that you should know how to burn an .ISO image as well as partitioning. Or if you want to save all the hassle just contact me, see my signature for my info.

So guys, what do you think of Microsoft's new product eh?

It sounds like they are making a token offering for home networking in case their Windows Home Server product does not take off extremely well. I actually like Windows Vista for home use but there are too many bells and whistles for most business' to take it seriously. I will have to put together a workstation and check Windows 7 out.

Ditto, Vista was too flashy and maybe that's why many people prefer to stick with XP instead. But personally I think Vista's good when you plan to use 64bit and if you do some tweaking you can achieve some awesome results  Check out my desktop: LINK

Though some people who were hardcore XP users actually like the new OS 'cause it's actually very efficient and has some nifty features. So far as I've seen, I just don't like the theme skin. I prefer less glossier ones and more business/professional like.
In the future I'm planning on dual booting my PC with Vista and Windows7. When i do find time to buy a DVD haha :D I'll tell you guys my review on it.
