Are there any airlines that have a reasonable price to fly from us to phils?

I have been looking over here and it seems it might be less expensive to buy a plane...lol..

Would it be better to purchase tickets over there?

Wanting to fly from u.s. to Davao...and/or Duma.

The least expensive flights that we were able to find, ( and its the way that I booked our upcoming flight) was through BT-Store. (Google it) That got us to Manila, then booked a separate booking on either PAL or cebu pac to get to Dumaguete or Davao. Hope this helps. (its still not cheap)

Where in the u.s. are you flying from?
That would help in choosing an airline with a hub near you

Try united I think there chicago hub is the closest to you for a major hub. Continental also has good summer fares but the route has a few extra stops

Try Expedia.com. We usually fly Korean Air, Japan airlines or Eva Air, coming from New York City area. They have lower fares. Prices are seasonal , higher in summer and Christmas season. Service is usually better than US airlines

Not sure what airport you'll use but Knoxville,TN to Cebu shows $1022.24 Northwest Airlines at ASAP Tickets Econom - cheap airfare, airline tickets, discount airfare tested using May 29 and Jun 29 return. The day of the week will be a factor for prices so you could play around and how soon you fly in advance could be a factor.

Kayak.com will show all prices from expedia, hotwire, travelovity, and airfare.com also.

Go with an Asian airline if possible.

I agree, if prices between the various airlines are the same or at least close, the Asian airlines tend to offer better service and really make you feel welcome to fly with them. Some times these flights are offered by those small travel consultants found in almost every town so pay them a visit and check them out too, it has most of the time been worth it.
