Come on gentlemen World War 2 ended 64 years ago. You talk like it was yesterday. I very sure that no one here is guilty of any war crimes. We really need to move on to today’s world. Words change meaning all the time after all English is a living language. I really don’t wish to take sides but! As it was mentioned ""Flip" was coined derogatorily during the Filipino-American War. Note the term WAS which means in the past. But I understand Filipino’s when this word is used you are noting race. When you do that it becomes racial so they do have the right to feel insulted. I’m married to a Filipina if you insult my wife you insult me this is a reasonable thought to anyone this is why I am posting, the world has changed it is global, Do you really feel a need to insult people. But on the other hand Filipinos do use this word about themselves check the link http://www.filipinolinks.com/Flip_Blogs as an example. When Filipinos use the term “Hey Joe” which is said to a westerner many times everyday it also denotes race therefore it is also racial and I sure it will not stop anytime soon. But I am sure Filipinos don’t mean to be racial but none the less it is. As a global community we really need look past peoples words not take things that are said to heart. There is good and bad everywhere you go. It is up to you to accept it or not. There is no point to complain you only belittle yourself by doing so. I guess my point is that no one is perfect and no place is perfect. So let’s get on with our lives. If you don’t like the heat in the kitchen go to the living room . Now back to the cold beer.:D

 

I thought the Yanks invaded the Philippines to save the natives from those beastly Dagoes.
They also took Cuba off the Dagoes and built a wonderful resort at Guantanamo Bay....

Oh, and don't get me started about the American-Mexican war...Remember the San Patricio's.
