Hi nomad4ever! If you want to purchase pedicab, I think you need to go to one of the attorny's office & request for a "deed of sale" that includes the notary stamp. I remember when I sold my van (surplus) for only 75k, i pay 1,200pesos for the deed of sale. The lower the value, the lesser the charge.

I never seen foriegner driving a pedicab?? maybe you will be the first! Good Luck!

BTW, I agree with aying.... go for a cheap 4 wheel, but not a multicab/van surplus, not good engine wise. I bought mine for 140k way back 2006, i sold last year when I realized i spent too much for maintenance. Next time I will buy a small brand new car, maybe kia, for as long as it's in the budget.

    Got one comming

I have a sidecar on order. Delivery is promised before the end of June. Price was 18,000 half in advance. It is to be what is called a Manila style, private service for 2 passengers to be mounted on a 150cc MCX. I'll let the group know how this works out. I try to maintain a sense of humor and low expectation when dealing with things like this. I had a jeep built in Cebu years ago and it turned out to be 10 times the initial estimate of time and money.

aying, kayleigh and arie, I will keep you posted on how things work out. My budget is very small and I spent already one week checking around Duma to find what I'm looking for.

I will probably get a used bike (Honda TMS 125, probably quite small, but I guess I will start with it, as there seem only few 150cc available and only for exorbitant prices) which I have test-driven for 22K Peso and a used tricycle sidecar, which should cost 8K Peso including mounting to the bike. There where some troubles also with the papers before, but it seems like its now working out.

Was at the LTO and they gave me all the requirements. Will need OR and CR, a 'Release Paper' (that the bike is free of mortgage) and a 'Dropping order' from Cityhall (as I only want to use the trike for private and not for transport). Then off to get the Sales Deed notarized. It looks promising to seal everything by end of this week.

So far I must admit, that I'm not sure if everything will go as planned, or if I'm literally taken for a ride, hehe. ;-)

Kenny, I was looking for a Honda TMX 155 initially, but it seems they are only few and far between on this island. The cheapest one I found was more than 10 years old, pretty run-down old and should've still cost more than 40K Peso. So I will probably go with the above 125cc one and maybe upgrade later, once I'm used to driving the sidecar.

Found also a nice site on the internet which explains the differences driving with or without sidecar, so some practice is probably ordered by the doctor.

Thanks for all the tips! Will keep you posted. ;-)

It looks easy enough, but I'm not so sure about the amount of romance involved anymore. Will keep you posted. ;-)
