⌛ my second post

Hi Guys. This is my second post. My first post was the girlie bar post and it seemed to cause quite a stir here. If my question was offensive I shudder to think what will happen when I actaully hit the ground there. I live in Canada which I dearly love but I can't handle the winters any more. Four months of
-30 Celsius is just gettin' too hard to take so I want to spend 4 to 6 months a year in a warmer climate. I was in Cebu 10 years ago and I like the Phils and the people so I think I would like to spend the winters in a smaller town like Dumaguete and do some snorkelling and hang out on the beach. I will stay for 4 or 5 months and come back home. I do enjoy female company which is why I asked the girlie bar question. I don't want to get involved with any "good girls" and hurt anyone's feelings when I leave so I think a GRO is probably the best option for me. Two consenting adults and nobody gets hurt. To those of you who answered my question without getting hysterical I say we could probably have a beer and a few laughs. To those of you who jumped down my throat: I've been shot, fragged, set on fire, and I've seen the Pearly Gates at least once so all I can do is smile. Hal

 

The short answer is that Dumaguete is probably not what you are looking for. If you want a smaller town where you can snorkel and has girlie bars, I would check out Puerto Galera or Subic...

I think Moalboal, Cebu could be a spot for you, snorkelling, girlie bars, close proximity to
Cebu City and Negros Island if you want to chek out Dumaguete also.

It's unlikely that fellow board members would openly share their experiences or knowledge with you on this forum......

There are actions to be found in Duma, You'd better off just get down there, talk to some local expats or ask trike drivers....Just tell them what you're looking for & I'm sure they'll be able to take you to a few places or at the very least point you to the right direction. I think The Why Not bar would be a good place for you to start...

Where in Canada do you get -30 C for four months? Even Fairbanks AK would struggle extremely hard for that record and that would be the coldest spot I've ever been. You might get -30 there for a few long nights during a cold snap but then it would warm a little....to -10 to -15....

I would agree with the rest regarding your travel plans....PG seemed it would fit you to a T. Have fun....

Having been raised in New Hampshire and lived in Vermont a few years, I can attest to the fact that thermometers have an anomoly similar to 'muscle memory' to a bowler....once it gets to -20F or so it sorta gets stuck there for a period of time (it took a 4 hour candle to finally warm it up). Another time I dropped a cup of hot coffee....it never spilt, nope..just picked it up by the stirrer, turned it over, took the cup off, and had a frozen coffee flavored lollipop.

Hey Hal when you get your B-----ks out the freezer I hope somebody gives them a good roasting.
Why don't you try Thailand...I believe they cater for guy's like you.

..glad we did not turn you off if you hang on long enough you will learned that we DI forumian has your best at heart. Come and see Dumaguete , and if you leave the place unsatisfied then you have more thousand island to choose. You are honest to tell us what you want while visiting dumaguete. Why dumaguete ? can you at least visit our town and relax without string atouch ? i am sure you can live a week with out being hammered could you ?:D go injoy and relax and have a life.
