A taxi cab from the airport on Maclan island to the South (bus) Terminal in Cebu is best. The cab fare should not be more than about 100 pesos if you take metered cab from outside the terminal. By this I don't mean the door exactly leading out from the baggage claim area but across the street and up a short staircase.

The bus terminal entry fee ten is pesos.

Ceres buses depart for Liloan about every fifteen minutes during the daylight hours. They alternate between non-aircon and aircon. The fare is one hundred fiftyish, one way per person. Hold baggage might be extra.

Other bus carriers operate from the same terminal but the seating is higher density. IMHO, a straight forget it.

V-hires also exist but I have no knowledge of them.

Assuming that your destination is Dumaguete, be aware that fast boat and ferry connections also exist.

I trust that this gets you started.

V hire is in the same area as the south bus terminal...Thease are usually very "Philippino style" cramped,overcrowded...annother,forget it. Ceres is the way to go !!

ps..if the taxi lets you off outside the bus terminal, scratch the 10 peso ent fee.

    hello,,

i advice you to take a taxi from Mactan airport to south bus terminal and take an Aircon Ceres liner to Liloan but if your coming to Dumaguete the best is to take a fastcraft from MActan Airport to Pier in Cebu then take a ride for Dumaguete.. its easy to travel

    Read all about it here:

    Ocean Jet

Much more expensive than the bus @ 900 / 1200 per person one way. A little bit faster.

Watch out for the horde of porters which will descend upon you on arrival at the Dumaguete pier. Carry your own bag or be prepared to shell out more than the service is worth.

Beware the assigned seating. If you are given one of the red seats on the periphery - move. The green ones in the middle or the grey ones upstairs in the open air fit longnose body frames much better.

some really terrible replies to this question here. The airport is at Mactan, north Cebu so going to south bus terminal to go somewhere north, like Lilo-an is a ludicrous idea.

I got a taxi from the airport to Compostela in January for 450 pesos. Liloan is closer, so you should get there for 400 or less. It's only about 20km. Heading all the way into town from the airport and getting a v-hire would be a waste of time.

if you need to save money, head to Mandaue and get a jeepney. That's how I got FROM Compostela to the airport, jeepney to the mall there (forget what it's called) then a 80 peso taxi to the airport from there.

What's so terrible in the replies Highway ?
Are you aware that the Liloan mentioned in the replies is concerning Liloan SOUTH of Cebu, just near to Dumaguete (where the poster wanted to go to) ???
YOUR Liloan seems to be north of the airport.
Please be more careful next time.
Btw, there are many places Liloan (or Lilo-an) in the Philippines.
Be on the highway to get to know them all
Who did react now terribly. I think it's me

I am pretty sure that Jellyfish is correct...the original poster is desiring to go to the Liloan on the southern tip of Cebu where the fast ferry carries one to Negros. (Hence posting the question on a Dumaguete board instead of a Cebu City board...) The advice all sounds good to me. I would add to it that you need to be sure to leave Cebu City by 3pm or so to catch the last fast craft departing Liloan for Sibulan, Negros.

By the way, Highway, if you paid P450 for a taxi from Mactan Airport to Compostella, you got seriously ripped off.

oh yes of course there's 2 Liloans. Sorry. As for the taxi, no I didn't get seriously ripped off, maybe 50 pesos over the odds or so but no more than that. It's 25km. You can't get them to use the meter like you can into town. They're within their rights to quote whatever they want. Nobody would take me for less than 450 that day and I asked a few. Considering it was Sunilog at the time, I thought it pretty reasonable actually.
