    Ready for flames

A family run business can be either a boon or a nightmare. With college grads working below their skill level, it seems to me they would be eager to improve themselves, since, custom here is to support family, the family would have a higher standard of living. (As I turn with my yet to be found Phillipine companion to face her family, I visualize them from a meter away extending to the horizon in all directions. A somber occasion since I am an only child.) Thus ends lesson one of the Phillipines.

While passing warning signs that I was nearing the end of the internet, I stumbled over "BIG Jim". His video tour throughout was most interesting (during the dry season I assume.)

Seeing that....YES, I'LL LEAVE THE DRIVING TO SOMEONE ELSE. (End of lesson two.) :D

One video was his former in-laws furniture building business. All skilled workers accomplishing a common goal...success for the family.

Unless your people are truly eager and responsible, any business needs to be run 'hands on' and there every day. As mention here, assistance for those wishing to help... no free ride. All is pie in ther sky as the best made plans can go ary. (Been there).

Jelly Jelly....I pasted your comment about 2 lines below for reference and I still can't stop laughling...and being reclined with the keyboard on my stomach, can you imagine the errors wirh one finger typing??? This is going to be a 12 hour project.

If the market is successful for a few prototypes, then some capital investment can assure a greater percentage survival rate, as no one starts a business with the anticipation of failure.

    For starters:
I would need to know the difference from the optical center of a lense to its mechanical center. The mating part could be bored off center to compensate. How much is the unknown. An autocollimator should give a reference value. (As magnification changes, the field of view must not stray.) I googled Edmonds Scientific and became more confused with their info....so leave the nuts and bolts to the experts. I don't care about theory (I cannot even intelligently discuss it)...I only can describe the end result. Part 1 fits into part 2 mechanical center to mechanical center. Part 1 also has a separate bore that has been deliberately made off center to move the optical center of the lense so that the assembly of part 1 puts the optical center common with the mechanical center of part 2. (Makes sense to me).

Since there are no patents it seems it could be made locally, sold locally within PI and a living be made.

When the economy improves locally I'll be able to sell and move on. The issue now is the bust of the real estate market.

I think I got it now Franh !
Part 2 falls into part 1 with a little off-set for the optical required movement so you can have always an optimum focus, independend from the enlargement scale.
This medical related end product seems to have a profitability chance which is dependend on the situation of the real estate market :rolleyes:
Must be a kind of instrument with a variable laser-beam to heat up on a health justified way the barbeque meat in the dry season when your family also can join outside your home at the end of their hibernation period.:D
But serious ..... I also should not abandon an idea in all details when it possibly could make my/her whole family busy and bring them fortune .
But in my own house ? ...........ehhhh........no.
Keep us informed. The real estate market will surely improve again
I'm glad you could appreciate my previous answer.

no sir, the chinese has not completely overlooked that market. thing is, in optics, there is no compromise, unlike other products. they have not yet found the cheaper way to fool the human eye with poor optics.

talking bout optics, i think the sands of siquijor are as good as the vietnam sand currently responsible for the fine leupold and horus optical products out there. imho.
