Tourist Visa = passport + $. As long as you have both, and know where to go you're set!

    Hello tommyc,
    Welcome to this forum.
On the following site you can find out what you need about visa, it all depend how long you will stay and from where you come.
Better stick to the rules to avoid disapointment.

    Hi Tommy,

your entry stamp you get at the airport is your tourist visa valid for 21 days.

after that you apply for a waiver to an extended stay of total 59 days.

2 weeks before that runs out you can apply at each immigration office for a visa extension for 2 month up to 2 years total time.

@ firefly, quite some info's on the side you linked are wrong !

    cheers

    Rhoody

The requirements for entry into the Philippines are:

    1) A passport valid for at least 6 month after the date of entry.

    2) A return or onward ticket with a travel date within the time, that your visa is valid for or alternatively the lenght of the permitted visa-free stay (21 days for most western nationalities).

If you do not comply with either of these rules, the airline has the right to refuse to let you travel at all. Since they will be held responsible for your return journey, if you are denied entry into the country for failure to comply with the immigration requirements.

These are not special Philippine rules by the way, but apply for travel to nearly all countries in the world.

I arrived in the PI on August 8th and just went this morning to get my first visa extension. It cost 3,030 for the first extension, and I went a few days early ("due" on Saturday). I arrived at about 10:00am and was the ONLY person in there! Very smooth process, went next door to have the required copy of my passport done (for a "whopping" three pesos), filled out the one-page information sheet, waited only 10 -15 minutes and was on my way.

Never have I found this to be an easier experience compared with other places...
