Funny how someone so unhappy with a place takes the time to register and compose an "essay" on their experience. I've been to places for which I didn't particularly care; as such, I didn't research, join and post on their local info board...

The reason for the post was to save readers from being deceived by the garbage that you and others espouse about this ....disfunctional septic tank (excellent post cyclop)

As other posters have revealed, Dumaguete is without charm, and one of the most unpleasant cities in the country.

If you took the time to travel to Legazpi city, Naga or pretty much any other city of similar size you may understand.

As one poster pointed out the charms and facilities offered by Bacolod or other cities not so far away make Dumaguete seem like the city from hell.

And before you burst out with the familiar, please don't concern yourself, I have no intention of ever coming back and yes I am fully aware, fortunately, that Dumaguete will not miss me, anything different would upset me.

well, somehow I have the feeling that you really like Dumaguete as you returned in that short period. 2 times.

It does not really matter if you post with Cyclop or Chantal, it is a amusing read. (of course with some truth)

It did not need much insider knowledge to trace your names and IP's.

If you forgot your Cyclop password let me know, I can generate a new one for you.

Anyway, thanks for your really "deep-knowledge 8-hour-I-know-all report.

Oops I forgot your Alter Ego was here some weeks ago to give you advanced info.

I look forward to your next trip to Duma and of course your faked member-name, email and cheap-charlie-proxy-try.

    again, thanks and cheers

Cylops/Chantal..hey there are other letters in the alphabet. Try them, they are fun. Anyway, seems like you hate the place, that's good, there is still hope for you..

    Hatred, Anger and Indifference

This is interesting. Read it if you have time.

Excerpt from the speech by Elie Wiesel:

"Indifference, after all, is more dangerous than anger and hatred. Anger can at times be creative. One writes a great poem, a great symphony, one does something special for the sake of humanity because one is angry at the injustice that one witnesses. But indifference is never creative. Even hatred at times may elicit a response. You fight it. You denounce it. You disarm it. Indifference elicits no response. Indifference is not a response.
Indifference is not a beginning, it is an end. And, therefore, indifference is always the friend of the enemy, for it benefits the aggressor -- never his victim, whose pain is magnified when he or she feels forgotten. The political prisoner in his cell, the hungry children, the homeless refugees -- not to respond to their plight, not to relieve their solitude by offering them a spark of hope is to exile them from human memory. And in denying their humanity we betray our own.
Indifference, then, is not only a sin, it is a punishment. And this is one of the most important lessons of this outgoing century's wide-ranging experiments in good and evil".

Oh..I promise I will not seek the Angels after you to crush your "Hoo Hah", I know you're scared of them.

well, my one-eyed french girl (Cyclop/Chantal)

you might have a look at some posts of the DI members and me.
as a double personality it's about 18000 for each to look at....

Why should I repeat all that, just because a schizophrenic person (demonstrates auditory hallucinations, delusions, and disorganized and unusual thinking) is too lazy to have a look ?

the people who did before their trip, knew about the porters, beggars and noise-makers, construction and traffic as well as about where to go and what to do.

Bayawan is a nice place but sad. I do not know why, but I feel sad whenever I visit that place (not quite often, like once a year?) Dumaguete is still my place, the place for me and my family to live and grow old in. LOL. I am never charmed by bigger cities with taller buildings and faster lifestyle. I must be growing old.LOL

Ya know, the one-eyed french girl does have a point.

The town is overrun with trykes, and beggars on the strip.

    Hard to deny, eh?

Thers's no fault in talking 'bout civic problems....,

yes there's too many trykes --what's to be done with 4-6 thousand drivers if they can't work the streets?

Moro beggars..., what shall be done with them?

Me, i'd rather the guys working for a buck than being unemployed.

Me, i'd rather the Moros begging than raiding.

Ideal?..., no, but Dumagete city is dealing with population trends that it has no control over.

Better citys in the Phils? -- i hope so.

Chantal may be rude, but not untruthful; this ain't Kansas.
