I heard they are charging +-US$1,000 per operation. I'll try to check if they already have a phone line.

$1,000 total is a good price. I paid $1600 in 2006 here in the U.S. My laser surgery was performed by a board certified eye surgeon with over 30 years experience and over 10 years doing laser eye surgery with thousands of laser eye surgeries performed. The cost included free consulation, a lengthy and extremely thorough eye test (every person is not a good candidate for laser eye surgery if the eye doctor is honest) and examination (free), and free multiple follow ups, including a year later!

What a person should be asking about though is......how much experience does the Doctor have performing the procedure (how many?) and what is the complication rate. Eyes are something to cherish and be VERY careful with!! I would implore anyone who is thinking about getting this procedure done to go online, do their own research, and get all the facts before getting this procedure done!

If anyone has any questions regarding my experience with laser eye surgery feel free to send me a private message.

^^I think ACES has ISO certification so I believe their procedures meet global standards. I had my laser surgery too, and I am quite satisfied with it. At least, I can still see with both my eyes, and as far as I am concerned, it has improved. I believe these doctors have been performing laser eye surgery for quite some time, specifically in their Cebu clinic.

ISO certification just means that their equipment meets international manufacturing standards, but it does not say anything about the facility or the doctors.

"ISO certification just means that their equipment meets international manufacturing standards, but it does not say anything about the facility or the doctors".
Knowdafish, that statement in itself is not correct.
First you need to know for WHICH ISO certification a company had been certified.
It can be simply for only manufacturing a certain product or providing a certain service.
It can be for as well Development of that certain product/service. It can be for the whole chain from Development till Production till After sales service.
At any of these, you need to show that your company is doing all what needs to be required to achieve your own setted company goals.
If your goal is 'being one of the top eye laser specialists' than you HAVE to prove that your employees are well trained, get regular updates etc...etc.. and that e.g. their capabilities are verified by the companies internal auditing system.
Your statement "but it does not say anything about the facility or the doctors" is therefore not correct.
Sorry, I can't help it to react, having been a practising ISO certified auditor myself for long before I retired a few years ago.:wink:
But being ISO certified does not always means that you are very good !
Enough examples of companies who should have never got their ISO certification.
How come ? Example: Sometimes even governmental bodies try to manipulate a certification institute to be able to promote their 'excellent industry'.
