Anyone know where I can rent a car in Dumaguete. Called Kens Trader this afternoon they wanted 4000 per day. Way to much if you ask me. Even in Cebu you can get one around for 2000 a day.

We rented a car from Ken's for less than 2000 a day (23 days, Isuzu Bighorn). Try to call Peter (junior), he makes good deals.

Just called Ken Traders back. Their manager said that (2000 per day ) must of been a long time ago. Still quoted 4000 PHP per day. That is US$85.00 a day. Who in the Philippines is going to pay that much. Ridiculous isn't it? Car rental at a decent price might be a good business to get into here in Dumaguete

Scud's charges P1800 per day for their only new car, a Toyota Vios. Discounts for longer term rentals. Only trouble is the Vios is their only good car...all the rest are 15+ years old and have various issues.

Be sure to get a copy of the rental contract to keep with you in case you are stopped. And note the fuel level in writing...they like to ask for extra for gas at the end.

Thats what we also paid for the Bighorn. Its not long time ago, we are back now 1 week. We did not have problems with the fuel level: they delivered the car to us with full tank. Yes, we had some problems with the car and 1 time we couldn't drive anymore. But within 1 hour we had another car. The service from Ken's is good, the cars are not. This is the Philippines.

Until now rent a car business in dgte does not changed. I rent scuds few times before & it wasn't a good car, i'm paying 2k/day. Not worth it, but no choice. :(

    Not in Duma.

It would be a good business if you could get good cars at a good price. You have to be realistic about where you are, logistics and a whole lot more to consider.
