Hi there! I was just wondering what are the possible small business opportunities a newbie could start in Dumaguete City? I'm not a bigwig who can franchise major names there but want to start a little of my own.

Just wanted to ask for your opinions and suggestions, since you've all been in DC for quite some time now. What else do you think is missing and would be a good thing to see there? :D Thanks in advance.

There are many, many opportunities to do things that are not being done here or simply doing things better. Keep in mind your consumer here, though. They don't tend to be big spenders, so you need to be a little creative to make a go of something.

I think it's better to list what not to do...

    Internet Cafes
Anything which puts more trikes on the road.
    Selling peanuts on the boulevard.
    List goes on...

A lot of new businesses are into food business, beauty salons, and laundry service and they seem to be doing well. It only goes to show that people here love to eat and are lazy to cook, love to be beautiful, and are lazy as well to do their laundry. LOL. I think one more laundry shop in a strategic location would be a winner.
