I have enjoyed my trips to the islands and especially dumaguete. When I go home I am always sad to head back to the states. When I am home I find that listening to certain music really reminds me of the island. For me it is reggae. I listen to it all the time and wish i was back on the islands. Anybody else have any music they listen when not in the philippines that reminds them of the place.

    Welcome GuapoHero.
Btw, that sounds very boosting: guapo...hero.
Or is that the name of your boyfriend ? :D)
I am mostly reminded on the Philippines when I'm for a short time back in my country of origin, when I hear karaoke music :rolleyes:

Why search out a reminder when you are away...when you can listen to the real thing.

    http://www.eradioportal.com/

They relay about 50 philippine radio stations over the internet. We listen to YesFM Bacolod, and a few others several hours a day....No Dumaguete stations yet but it's only a matter of time. Quality is usually good....sometimes stations go missing for some strange reason and then return a few days later...

    Reggae music
Anyway Gwapo, my answer to your question would be "Thank-you" by Jose Mari Chan. When my wife and I married, at the reception a friend sang it to us while playing his guitar, that was the first time I heard it, beautiful words.
Still brings a tear to my eyes when I hear it again :o
Silly old fool, think I will put it on now!!!
