There's been quite a to-do in the US the last couple years over toys, pottery etc coming from China having high lead content.. TV stations testing products for consumers etc.

Seeing all those imported highly decorated Christmas dishes for sale gives me the shivers wondering what the lead content is.

Here's one article on it. There are plenty more to be found.

    Make your own decisions.

This is one of my pet friggin peeves....the Chinese poison that is being exported around the world with the collusion of governments (including Australia) who are too gutless to thoroughly monitor the crap the Chinese export. We avoid Chinese food products - standing orders in this house. No Chinese poison. Problem is we don't always know if things are properly labelled....and sometimes they are purposely vague (ie 'Australian owned' and smaller print - from China....
One reason we grow as much of our own as we can....and buy Australian as much as possible....
