Has any body tried shipping brand new TV's from the US to the PI for personal use? How was the taxes? I looked around and noticed flat screen LCD's are ridiculously expensive in the PI. I was thinking of getting one here since it's a lot less expensive and ship it through LBC.

If you have a contact in customs, it's a good time to ship...the ports are opened up due to the elections (a lot of money is raised through Customs).

But, if you don't have a contact, it's a gamble. Officially, I think the import tariff is 100% and the customs official has discretion to determine the value.

    seebea,

its cheaper to ship gadgets and electronics from US to RP through philippines post office cargo but the problem is the tariff taxes its like youre paying the price of TV you shipped, better watch the christmas sale here in RP or try to open the website of sulit.com.ph for sales and promos of LCD tvs...
