I'm sure there have been posts on this before, but I was unable to locate them.

We are looking for shipping suggestions for small-sized packages/boxes at a reasonable rate - specifically to the U.S., with only one- or two-item contents. We know about the balibaykan (sp?) boxes, but don't need anything that large. Just small items, like a piece or two of clothing.

    Any suggestions/recommendations?

    Thanks in advance!

DHL or give it to a trusted friend who is going back to the U.S.

LBC is accepting that 2 items or more, but if you want reasonable price and the items youre sending to US is not perishable you can send it through postal or local post office. it will take 7-10 days if it is express delivery

I've had good results using the post office for small packages to the US also.

The lowest rate so far would be postal service. It takes a bit longer but it arrives just the same, so.

Thanks, all, for your replies! We have not even gone INTO the post office yet, so we will do that and see what they can tell us.

Does anyone use the post office for a mailing address/P.O. Box here? We don't have an official house number on our street, so I don't know what address to give to friends and family, LOL!

    Hahaha, that's quite normal here R&S !
Just mention the street, your Barangay or whatever
I don't get it always on time (sometimes it took 3 months !) but it always got at my house.
The nice postman brings it on his motorbike whatever wheater it is, so I have no need for a postbox (yet).
It's soon the end of the year so I will thank him for his deliveries with a small gift.

I use a P.O. Box because the mail never seemed to make it to the house. When I got the P.O. Box, the postman gave me all the collected pieces of mail he had not delivered over the months and said he couldn't find my house and that we should have "registered" with the post office when we moved there...

My only gripe about the P.O. Box is that the boxes are locked up and inaccessible whenever the post office is closed. And being a gov't agency, the post office keeps short hours and has MANY holidays. (47 official plus the occasional special ones at last count...)

Small, inexpensive items that do not require speedy delivery (apprioximately 3 weeks in my experience) can be shipped PhilPost.

By the way, you will not likely "go inside" the Post Office as the main counter is actually outside.

I frequently was sending normal letters to Australia from the regular post office in Duma (the certification letter for my diving-courses) and about a third got "lost". I can't blame the local or philippino office and transportation system, but i have my suspects...
