At what location will this German Shepherd live? German Shepherds do not do well in the heat! They like cooler climates, even snow! Heat + German Shepherd = MAJOR skin problems!!!!

I know someone who raises German Shepherds in Valencia. He's in the Phils about half the year...not sure if he's here now or not. I can email you his number if you can post an email or allow for a PM. (Would rather not post it on a public forum though...)

I used to have Shepherds in the South in the US. Knowdafish is right about them not doing so well in the heat...maybe it's not so bad up in Valencia...and maybe if you shave them a few times a year...

Years ago I had a shephard I bought in Manila and raised in Cebu. He didn't have any skin problems. I now have a 1 year old lab and she seems to be doing ok in Dumaguete. Just make sure they have plenty of water and shade.

I would stick with shorter hair dogs like Dobermans, Rottweilers, Labrador Retrievers, Pit Bulls.
