As you can see from my post above, I will be moving to phils in January.
There were (are several things that I will regret giving up when moving there).
One will be my 2005 Harley-Davidson........but with a 150% import duty....there is no way I can take it......so I will just have to own the fastest "step-through scooter" on the island.
Another thing that I am "addicted to" is my iPhone. I have two of them. Those, along with my netbook, allow me to stay in touch with anyone at anytime........I live in an electronic world. Everyone knows that iPhones, for the time being, are only used on ATT service here in the USA. But, trying to keep my smart phone I "googled" "unlocking the iPhone" and found a great program that works perfectly. Of course I am not saying in any manner that anyone should do this, but it does work.
I used the program on my spare iPhone first........one button to unlock it and about 7 or 8 minutes...........I turned it off and took out the sim card.......I put the sim card from my other iPhone turned it back on and it lit right up thinking it was the other phone. Now I got brave and did the other iPhone. I then took the other sim card and put it in there and turned it on, and it also lit up as the other phone. I removed both sim cards and put them back in the correct phones and turned them on and the both lit up correctly. Now I am really brave so I borrowed a sim card from a Verizon user and a Sprint user and both of those sim cards worked perfectly in both of my phones. The only condition is that the sims must be from a "GSM" system......which is what there is in Cagayan De Oro.........I'm in good shape now.........I have my iPhones and can use them in phils.....my life will be good there...i have this
    "feeling".
If you want the program name.......email me.......it is a free program.....

I think it would be cool to have an IPod Touch 64GIG there in the Philippines. There are many places now where You could pick up free Wi-Fi with it and to top it off,it fits right in Your pocket.Granted,You can't make a phone call or text with it {well, except for a chikka text which is free},but that's what My cheap Nokia model 1100 has been used for ever since I bought it in 2004,and it's still going strong.I just wish I could get it to work here in the states because My LG is A.P.O.S!

    They have that also....I think

When I was on their website I did see that they can unlock iPods also, but I did not pay attention to it. Email me and I'll give you the sites address. They unlock iPhone 2G.....3G.....3GS and iPod if I remember correctly. What I liked about the program I got was that it was only one button. Connect the device, open it, press one button, wait about 6 to 8 minutes until the device restarts and it is done.....and best of all it is free.

From what I have heard you can get around the crazy high taxes on the import of you motorcycle if you have it disassembled and shipped as parts.
There is still a tax but it should be much lower.

Thats what I have heard anyway. You may want to investigate further.

To Kewi.... "Black Ra1n" ...."make it rain" is the only button to push.
I read the forums and see a lot of people having various problems. But the program says for "for 3G iPhone with update 3.1.2" which is what both of my iPhones are. In my case, it worked perfectly without any problems.

To Tom2bad68.... I had heard that also. But I have tools and spare parts here....and no tools and spare parts there and no time-frame here. And of course what happens if one crate gets "lost" in shipping.
So I'm going..... and my Harley will have a new owner.
And it might be fun to see just how fast I can make a step-through scooter go.

Kewi...I'm sorry. I should have been more direct in my answer. Google "black rain" and it pops right up. Go to any free site and download it. It takes about 2 minutes to download it onto your PC. Then double click the icon and you will see only one button marked "let it rain". Plug in your iPhone to the PC and press the button. Sit back for about 6 to 8 minutes and after your iPhone restarts it is done. Also, it comes with 2 additional programs to download apps, download and install both of them on your iPhone.
Anything elseyou need....just ask....glad to help.
