Yes but unsurprising, this from a bunch of people, who couldn't put out a fire, a mere 10 metres away, when the Dumaguete City records office was razed to the ground directly next to the fire station, a few years back. As much use as chocolate fireguards, except when they want money/"donations", to issue fire permits for businesses, then they know what they're doing!:D

You tend to get more "rubber-neckers" at particularly gruesome traffic accidents though.

Pinoys are very curious people. When there's fire anywhere, they would like to go to the place to watch. There was a time when the police station was on fire and a lot of people including children ran to the scene to watch. It was crazy since the place on fire had ammunitions that exploded and could hit anyone.

Agreed, especially when the fire brigade performs a very passable impersonation of the keystone cops. Only person I heard that was hurt during the police station fire, was a pedicab driver with grenade shrapnel in the leg, seems to be a very dangerous profession.

WELCOME to the PHILIPPINES. Some filipino can't just mind their own business. They want to watch what is happening yet they are helpless and make the problem worst.
