Day use of the swimming pool has arbitrary usage FEES.

One clerk claims the fees are FREE if you purchase a meal, if you do not eat at this facility, the adult price is 100 Pesos and children are free.

One manager claims the FEES are 200 Pesos per adult and 100 per child.

Another manager says the FEES are FREE is you purchase a meal.

In short, I strongly recommend to all Foreigners and locals to steer clear of this place,

I recently visited this place for a birthday luncheon for my wife and her sisters to enjoy the pool etc., I was charged for the meals and 200 Pesos per swimmer!

One of my neighbors goes there often and claims he is never charged for the use of the pool.

Most places do have fees, got to pay for the pump electricity somehow. Did you honestly expect that anyone apart from the owner would actually know how much to charge exactly, for pool usage?!

    Welcome to the Philippines.:D

Obviously your neighbor has "friends in high places", or maybe his/her spouse, owns the place.

    Live 'N Learn!

:smile:My wife and I along with her sisters frequent the resorts on the Brown Out days. A pleasant way to stay cool and make a fun day out of the sad situation that the power company play's here in the Dumaguete City area.

I do no the Bahora Resort is very nice and has a realistic price of the lunch that goes along with the swimming pool usage program!:D

Does anyone have better suggestions on these local Beach Resorts, i.e., Santa Monica etc.?

That happens at more resorts. Me also, when I visit certain resorts I don't have to pay the fee. These people know me (I'm such a nice person and sometimes I do drink a few more beers).
The fee is to prevent those to enter who are not at all planning to consume something but only to swimm in a nice pool.
The fee at least keeps them away and gives room for the real customers at the resort. They at least have payed a lot of money to enjoy a place with this kind of facilities.
But maybe they selected only on appearance of the person, so your neighbor must look better than you :D:smile:
