Christmas season has passed so I guess the annual pilfering of mail coming into PI has subsided.. I'd like to ship something in a US Priority Mail box approx 12 inches long by 2 inches thick from the US to Dgte. From what I hear the real risk is your local mailman rather than some central mail office in MNL etc. I'm interested in feedback from those who've had things sent on the risk factor of it actually getting to me via that method. I'm receiving thinner Priority envelopes with magazines and mail ok, should I risk it?
I use USPS priority mail package delivery fairly often. So far so good. The local delivery guy doesn't get to deliver the package, he delivers a notice and then I go to PO to pick it up and usually have to pay a fee and sign for it. Usually takes from 2 weeks to a month for priority mail. Having said all this I am waiting for a delivery that was shipped on 1/06 I'll let you know if and when it shows up. Side note I have mailed packages to the States from Post Office here and again so far so good.
Had two in the last 6 months that never arrived with that service, either nicked in Makati post office or here. Better to take out additional insurance if possible, when sending stuff to this country.
