    Hi all,
I am going back to Oklahoma next month and want to take some clothes back for my grand daughter, daughter and son-in-law, but I don't have a clue how to buy clothes here, can you help me with the conversion?

    18 months
    2T
    size 4 shoes (toddler)

My daughter wears medium or large.. should I get her XL?

My son in law wears XL or XXL shirts...would that translate to XXXL here? Can you even find nice t-shirts in that size here?

Thanks, I know I can count on you guys!!

as I have no Baby experience I only can answer the other part.

The adult-sizes are VERY different here and depending a lot on the manufacturer. I am a big boy and have quite some probs to find "Adult"sizes.

My t-shirt sizes go from XL (Brand: Ocean Shirt and still loose) to XXXL (local brand - pretty tight).

with your daughter it should be easier as you know how she is build compared to you and where she needs more or less in size.

Mam, the best thing to do is to bring a measurement tool and just compare the size of the 4 inches to the actual size of the shoes you are going to buy.You are right mam, you have to add 1 to filipino size to american or foreign size e.g., XL filipino size = XXL foreign size... enjoy shopping!

Thanks, Rhoody, that has been my experience so far, too. I wear a large in the U.S. and find that I am in plus sizes here!! Makes me feel horrible!! I have only bought one shirt since I have been here.

Thanks, but I don't know that size 4 toddler shoes are 4 inches in length, I will have to ask my daughter to measure them, I suppose. Also, I think you got the figures backwards, as I have found a size XL foreigner is a like a size XXL or even XXXL here....I think I have to go UP, not DOWN in size here. I think I will enjoy shopping more when I get this all figured out. I can't even begin to guess at 2T....the sizes here are small, medium, large, and I have seen 1, 2, 3...not sure if 2 would be like a 2T or not..........
    Thanks for the info!!

I wear XX shirts and 42 waist size 13 shoes. I have never been able to buy clothes here. I usually mail order delivered to my daughters house in TN and when things pile up she will send a balik bayan box. My wife loves shopping at the used imported clothing stores called okai okai and occasionally will come across things in my size. If in your searching you come across a source of clothes in realistic sizes please let us know.

    large clothes

    Kenny,
When I was in Dumaguete several weeks ago, in the Lee Plaza, I believe I did see some larger size men's shirts. Not sure if that is just an occasional shipment they get it, but there were quite a lot of them, but don't ask me what store they were in, as I was lost most of the time I was there. If I see anymore I will let you know!!

no way at LEE, but you get up to 4XL (real-adult-size) in HO's Marketing. Was before next to Lee, moved now to Real Street if I remember correct. There is a Map on the old shop.

And the very best, they have uni color ones, without any fancy - filipino flower prints in even fancier colors. Normal T-Shirts, Polo and so on (120 - 250 PHP). Some with very good quality where even the average maid has problems to scrub them to death when "washing"...
