I've heard several reports that an American was stabbed. At bus terminal? Anyone know anything about this?

    Really?
3:30am in the morning, (when nice policemen are sound asleep), at a crossing of two of the most drug infested barangays in Dumaguete?
    Well, I never.........

It's happening more and more often unfortunately. The city is still in the midst of a crime wave. I'm not sure if this is due to the economy or something else, but it is certainly effecting Dumaguete City.

If this is the Dakota I know it shows that the local gangsters are not afraid of size. He is a pretty intimidating individual with training and skills to back it up. All I can say is be careful where you go late at night.

well sad that it happened, and yes I guess it is that Dakota, the only impressing thing about him is basically the huge crap coming out of his mouth...

nevertheless, I hope he is recovering well and quick. otherwise I can't agree more with KTM and Knowdafish, of course there will be also another side of the story and the real story...

I have walked alone several times that same road from Perdices Str. to the Ceres Liners terminal at night between 2 and 2:30 AM.
Not that I felt very comfortable but have never faced any problem.
I did however never carry a bag, camera or whatever could be valuable for 'interested people'.
I must have been lucky because I'm certainly not an impressive/intimidating looking person :D
But I will surely be more careful after reading this.

Obviously the training skills weren't up to snuff were they. Hope he will pull through. You never know maybe it was a humbling experience

Foreigners should not go out alone especially in the middle of the night. Alot of bad elements nowadays in dgte. And I think they are not from dgte. they are from the neighboring islands. Even to the locals as well, not safe to walk alone in dgte. Scary!!!!!
