Gentle People , Kumusta na` . I will be coming to Dumaguete area to settle . What goods are expensive and worth shipping via Balikbayan boxes ? I plan to take rechargeable batteries , kitchen wares , vegetable, flower and fruit seeds , some tools . Don`t want to have too much but if Heinz ketchup is VERY EXPENSIVE or bulk items cheap in the US are EXPENSIVE in the RP`s ... give me examples of cheap and expensive stuff . If there was something you wished you`d brought or would be willing to pay for if someone brought per your wish . Is there BBQ sauce locally ? Getting ready.... excited  Regards Kevin

Hey excited ! where are you moving from ? is this move for good ? what made you decide to do so ? Curious cause i will make that move in 2010 . are you retiring ?
I know they have bbq sauce , maybe a few spices you may be accustomed to , kitchen ware is a must if you still plan on cooking . Sheets , towels etc...

Great advice, although about 3 years late. The original poster already ran back home with his tail between his legs two years ago, never to be heard from again.

Well, we all learn from our mistakes, so I can tell you what I bought with me that was totally useless.
8 pair of Wrangler jeans (I've worn one pair once)
12 pair of white socks (I've worn one pair once)
1 new pair expensive tennis shoes (worn for trip only)
2 lightweight jackets (what a joke they are)
20 black Harley t-shirts (black not a good color here)

Now, for what I had to buy when I got here:
    8 pair of shorts
    2 pair of sandals
    12 bright light colored t-shirts

Now, what I wish I had brought:
    "Old Bay" seasoning for crabs
    Seeds for Jalepeno peppers.
Something to get rid of the Tuko lizard that lives VERY close to me.
(he talks to me at night)
At least 2 more iPhones (I bought 2 with me)
    (they sell for $650.00 here)
