    From the Visayan Daily Star;

    The house of a former barangay captain of Pulupandan and of 10 other reported relatives of slain former mayor Luis Mondia in Barangay Zone 1-A in Pulupandan were demolished Friday.

    Mondia, who was running for mayor against Peña, was killed near the Jaro Cathedral in Iloilo on Feb. 17 by suspected guns-for-hire.

    Pulupandan Mayor Magdaleno Peña said yesterday that the demolition of the house of former Zone 1-A Barangay Captain Eduardo Española, a cousin of Mondia, and 10 others located on the property of Frederico Infante, town administrator, was based on a valid demolition order.

    Peña said three more houses were set to be demolished in the area but they asked for his help so he requested Infante, who is his relative, that they instead just be relocated a few yards away.

    Peña said he has existing valid demolition orders for thousands of other informal settlers in the town but he has no plan of enforcing them for now.

    “It depends on which side of the bed I wake up on,” he said.*CPG

    Amazing how blatant they can be, and get away with it.

    Yes, nauseating isn't it. Not going to change until the military finally realizes democracy has become a hopeless farce, gives up on it - and takes the clownshow over for an eventual fresh start. Hope they have enough bullets for corrupt politicians and officials.
