Can Anyone over there recommend a reputable/reliable Doctor that has expierience with Allergy and/or Sinus infections in Young Children? My 4 Year old Daughter Who lives in Dumaguete with Her Mother has a history of Allergy and Sinus problems that We've never been able get rid of. No sooner than You think She's getting better it comes right back. I am hoping there's Someone out there Who's ran into these same problems with there Children, and perhaps found a cure....Thanks,John..

JR,too bad that the good child, allergy doctor in Dumaguete, died last year.
I went to Precision labs in Cebu,on his reccomendation, and had my blood tested for allergy reactions...First step to relieving symptoms is to find out what you are allergic to !..Miguel

It may be a matter of getting the correct antibiotic. If the Dr. is prescribing the same thing each time ask for something stronger or find another Dr. I do not know which Dr. since I am not there in Duma yet, but I do know about sinus infections since I get them most every year.

It also possible the your child is somehow getting reinfected check out the environment etc.

Good luck and don' t give up.

As a child, I had severe allergies and chronic bronchitis. I felt as though I was constantly sick or always at the doctors. I wasn't properly diagnosed and treated until I was almost 7 years old after seeing an allergy specialist/pediatrician and getting the correct course of treatment(s) which, for me, included weekly and bi-weekly allergy shots and a strict diet until i was 16 or so.

I've found, as I've gotten older, that I've outgrown alot of my allergies completely or they are greatly reduced. The problem though is, after living in the Philippines there are more potential allergens! Different foods! Different plants and pollens! Mold! Mildew!

Keeping a daily diary of what one eats and paying attention to how one feels and their level of congestion helps alot! Using a good air purifier in ones bedroom helps dramatically also! Taking a good multiple vitamin and high does of vitamin C (1000 mg. or higher) helps too!

If all else fails a good doctor is a God send. After being in the Philippines for a month with a constant cough and sinus headaches I finally gave in to my wifes wishes and saw a doctor. Not an allergy specialist, but a good doctor nevertheless. Edna V. Alcantara at Holy Child Hospital. She has a clinic M-F 10:00 A.M. - 12 Noon and Saturdays 10-12 also. She prescribed a strong antibiotic for my never ending cough and a prescription nasal spray for my congestion and sinus headaches after her asking me alot of questions and taking my blood pressure. What she has prescribed was not cheap, but I am getting well finally! She even gave me a discount card that was good for 30% at Mercury Drug!

I hope this info helps. Feel free to private message me.

Google something called a "neti pot". These have been used about two centuries in Aruvedic style medicine.Completely natural, works miraculously for most and no need for toxic antibiotics. Might be difficult for a small child though to use it.

Everyone is different....but in the Philippines I feel great.....however down here I suffer along with millions of Australians with our native pollens etc...Funny how people develop these allergies....I was violently allergic to Mangos for many years but can now eat them in small amounts....Fortunately, I haven't had an allergic reaction to alcohol...but my wife is very allergic to it and I thank God every time I see my beer hasn't been touched in the fridge...
